Well, I'm new here anyway so an introduction must be in order.

I'm an R6 owner - purely because 1. it's cheap for bits and binning it on track days seems to be becoming a habit 2. I had a 2 yr break and can't insure the Gixxer 1000/R1 I really wanted Sad

I'm recovering from a major back op and will hopefully be back in the saddle in a few weeks. My physio once happened to mention that BIKING IS BETTER FOR A BACK than driving a car!!!! OK, she may not have meant tracks and may not have considered the falling off bit, but I find selective advice is sometimes the best type.

Anyone care to say hi? Smile

Susie

Hi Susie, welcome to the site. The R6's a decent bike, I'm famous for going on about wanting one. Unfortunatley with my incoming 3 points (speeding Confused Razz ) I doubt I'll be able to insure one this side of the 25th century Crying or Very sad .

Ah well, welcome and have fun Thumbs Up Smile

Fortunately these days with every man and his dog having 3 points for speeding it doesn't actually make much difference to insurance prices. Have you bothered to get a quote to find out? Or are you just assuming that you wont be able to insure one? Very Happy

I used to assume I would never be able to insure an R1 or even the Storm but then I got a quote and was very very suprised.

Even now with a TT99(which means I went over 12 points) I can still insure an R1 for £1000. Not bad going if you ask me. Mr. Green

(Sorry for the hijack, once again... Welcome) Thumbs Up Very Happy

Don't you have to be old and never have a single misdeanour for esure?

Even then they aren't hugely competitive.

a very large welcome...can I ask what you had done?..I had my third lumbar disk removed which was fun... Rolling Eyes I have problems if I've had to drive to work too many days as it starts to lock up, getting back on the back gives it the exercise needed to get it working again.. Very Happy

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Hey Susie, my name is also Susi.

Hopefully they'll spell your name right, as opposed to mine. For some reason they seem to lack the ability to use a darn S and replace it with a Z. Laughing

Anyway, welcome to the forum. Very Happy
