Hey I'm in need of some inspiration. I have a job interview on Wednesday. I'm wanting to wear a suit as it will make a good impression and so on, my main issue at the moment is that I need to be in uni right up until the interview on Wednesday so I need to wear the suit at uni, whilst this isn't a problem usually.. I have no way of getting to uni for 8.30 short of riding my bike in or getting a taxi in.

I have a full set of textiles, and I have soft luggage bags. I do have a hard luggage rack and might be able to get hold of a top box in the next couple of days but this isn't so likely.

So yeah would wearing shirt/trousers under textiles be ok? I figure I can take my jacket and shoes in a tail pack or something and put that on when I arrive in the morning. Would my shirt get creased up under the jacket? Should I just get totally changed at uni?

Any advice would be great as I'm not sure what to do.
Cheers.

If you sweat under your textiles you suit will get uber creased and you'll look like a state at the other end.

Change into your suit at uni. Leave bike at uni. Get taxi to interview. Cars for the win when you need to be presentable.

Fortunately its a 5 min walk from uni to where my interview is, but yeah I think you are right. At least this was I don't have to spend all day at uni in a suit potentially getting it dirty.

When I had to go to court about a month back I just rode my bike wearing my suit, shiny shoes and the lot Mr. Green Mind you it was only about 8 miles. Got a £250 fine reduced to £40 and 9 points reduced to 6. Twisted Evil

I went to have a look at a flat last week, turned up in leathers and just got changed in the car park. Don't care if people see me in my pants anymore Laughing

I would wear normal casual gear to Uni, but leave the suit's jacket & shoes in the panniers. Carry your suit trousers (neatly rolled up), shirt (neatly rolled), appropriate fresh socks, a tie (neatly rolled up) with you in a bag into the Uni and changed in the toilets, a quick shave, use a bit of stick/spray deoderant and pop a breath mint or two.

Once arrived at the interview place's parking lot and then put on your suit jacket & shoes and store the rest in the panniers, if possible padlock it shut if need be or not? Chain or lock the helmet onto the bike some where for security!

P.S. Take two sets of the following; a copy of your CV in plastic clear sleeved folder along with copies of any certificate(s) of education or commendations for recognition of any work done in the past. It helps because it makes you look like an organised person, and that's what they are looking for in the end. Why 2 sets, either you'll get interviewed by 2 people and so give them one each them or if just one person instead then you can talk him/her through what he is seeing together and leave a copy behind.

In the end I had already been given a job offer before the interview; and as I had an insanely busy day and genuinely didn't want the job as I had been offered a far better one.

However I was curious so I rocked up in whatever I was wearing at the time, I did shave in the morning but had a 4 o'clock shadow by that point; still I wasn't worried. Showed up in full bike gear looking very stressed out.. All the same gave it a good shot, might have got it but in the end I have a much better job with a much bigger company lined up so I'm not so worried Very Happy.
