I guess it's the ultimate sacrifice that a parent makes. They could have done a lot of things in their life but thought that they could invest an non-returnable investment, i.e. moi. I had a trust fund that pretty much sorted me out for accomadation and food. My parents eventually emigrated back to indonesia during my freshers year cos my dad retired and that gave me the freedom to do anything i wanted.
Now, student loan would have been surplus to requirements, but I was foolish enough to get one.. and i felt really itchy so i bought stupid things; most notably stocks in alpinestars!
Oh, i worked on industrial placement last year and earned myself some nice £££, 3k of which went to repairing a turd that was my ZX6R which was a write off.
Equally it can be said that if I got a car, it would have been a LOT more to run and tax and insure.
I suppose I've been blessed by having understanding parents.. but at the same time have had my equal measure of bad luck. But live and learn. Whilst i still have the bank of mum and dad, make the most of it! ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

That's the spirit.
Well to be honest with you; I never spend more than 2400 on bikes. Ironically, the most I spent on a bike was for my XR125! My Kwaka's were 1200 a piece; then the blade was 2.3k.. so work your way up and treat yourself for 3rd year. You can tell if it's a finallist cos they tend to have group 16 INS bikes due to their age and cheap insurance after accumilating NCB on smaller bikes.
Where you at for uni dude? ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1
