Does anyone have an idea of value for this bike?

I bought it last year, it has only 8k miles on the clock, has been in storage for 20 odd years and is in remarkable condition. Not mint or as new, but you dont get many CB250RS in this condition as most were despatched.

Since coming out of storage it has had carb overhaul, caliper overhaul, new brake pads, new Metzeler tyres, new battery, it has 8 months MOT and tax and runs perfectly. THe paint work and panels are all original, no corrosion on forks or wheels etc. A few odd small spots of surface rust but nothing major.

When I take it out it gets a lot of attention and one old guy asked if I was selling, I said I was but he didnt offer a price so don't think he was serious. Another guy was also surprised at the condition and said it wouldnt take much to get it concourse, but I think he was exaggerating a lot.

So does anyone know if its worth any money? Where would be a good place to advertise it seeing as its a "classic" bike.

i'd personally give £600-£700 for it possibly £800 if its in good nick, i want one too.

£6-800 is not much money, this bike has new chain and sprockets, new tyres, brakes, is in outstanding original condition and very low mileage.

So I would suspect its worth a fair bit more than that but I'm not sure as I have never seen another for sale in this condition with this mileage etc.

Used bike guide puts a good condition one at £600, but that was last updated in 2006. If it runs as good as it looks, I think £750 is realistic, more if you've got paperwork to back up the mileage.

I think the best answer is not as much as you seem to hope it is worth.

Whilst that one is clean and low mileage, it's a CB250RS. I could buy three runners and have change from £750.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Lots of us on here would like a CB250RS, but mostly because we found they were great fun to run as disposable bikes.

i hated them then and nothing has changed.

classic bike i dont think so you need it to read lc 250-350 etc

you might get a monkey for it thats £500 for the young uns

I'd put it at about £600-700. not much more than that.

i looked and thought yea ide go 500 on that didnt think they were worth £800 ive seen mint cb750s go for 400 !!

Well I guess to some extent I prove some of you wrong, a few said it was worth about 4-500.

Theres always someone with more money than sense, usually me. Whoever paid £900 for that needs to stop taking the pills and look at whats available. A 2 month old copy of classic bike has a 1975 CB250, 2200 miles for £795 and a fully restored '81 rs version for £600.

I looked at a CB250 last week, 12moths MOT and tax and pretty good condition £175.


Brought a bike for £600, rode for 2 years, cleaned it, stuck it on ebay and made £500 profit. Guy paid cash and was over the moon. Still amazes me.

All that being said, some of the people selling bikes on this forum seem to be from a different planet, or I'm stuck in the '90's with my idea of prices.
