Due to the pound being utter shite I am getting quite a few orders through my business from the USA. Now I usually use paypal to process cards online for me but with some orders being $900+ the fees are quite high and say an order total is $1000, they end up paying an extra $34.20 or something.

So, anyone know of a decent payment system, online preferably that is 100% secure and can accept debit and credit cards. Fees need to be minimal, best thing would be a fixed charge per transaction.

Only two I can think of are Worldpay and Nochex, both have to be better than Paypal (eBay).

Hi

You could have a world pay transaction sirect to your UK account from the states. The charges will depend on the banks involved.
takes about 3 days for the cheap option I think.

Regards

Worldpay costs money to set up and fees are only slightly less.
Moneybookers requires you to have a moneybooker account to pay.
Nochex has a £50 set up fee.

Bank transfer is ok but hassle for the buyer. I would rather accept cards online.

Thanks

To be honest of the many payment processing companies out there, and they are growing at a alarming rate....
Pay pal are one of the cheaper and better.
Take a look at Western Union Fee's and for $900 you are looking at $88...

Personally stick to someone that is well known to your customers, they will feel a lot safer dealing with a payment company they have heard of.

Anyway, whats this it costs the buyer........
Never had to pay extra to buy via PP... And its against their regs for you to charge extra for using their service.

I know its against their regs to do that but I say if you want to pay via credit or debit card there is an extra charge and tell them a total which includes this charge. Paypal does seem to be the cheapest but it looks more when you say 3.4% than 1% but a set up fee of £xxx

Cheers

Don't know how much you are turning over a month, but how do these figures look compared to Pay Pal.

Quote:
Transaction processing rates are determined by your sales volume during the prior calendar month minus any refunds and are reset on the 5th of every month:

Monthly sales under £1500 3.4% + £0.20 per transaction
£1500 - £5999.99 2.9% + £0.20
£6000 - £14999.99 2.4% + £0.20
£15000 - £54999.99 1.9% + £0.20
£55000 or more 1.4% + £0.20

Google Checkout.

Or
Pay Point
Quote:
Great value, starting at just £10 a month – including 100 free transactions. No set-up fee

Plenty more out there. just looking at one's that people might know and therefore be more likly to trust, you as a merchant when paying for goods of such value.
