Great bike, no complaints.

Things to look out for, not many. Rubber on indicators corrodes.....em.....water ingression into headlamps at times..........thats it. No other problems with mine.

I kept the standard shock, many will have been changed, also many have after market dampers fitted (didnt feel the need myself).

Fantastic handling, when you do get a bit over excited it will give you a wee shake of the head to warn you, brilliant on cornering, standard brakes are immense (yet to see a bike with better brakes including those with braided lines).

Oh yeah, one last thing, remember the green ones are 10% faster Thumbs Up

My mate has one and hasn't had a problem with it, except an indie falling off when he was racing places.

This bike has been through the bad riding of several novices, plus the absolute abuse of us, a couple of large chases, one of which involved riding cross country, plus a 25 mile commute every day and hasn't missed a beat.

I've ridden Dannys and I have to say I liked it. Mental engine, hard forks and shock but his had been rebuilt with shiney Nitron parts.

The main outstanding memory of that brief twenty minute ride was the unbelievable discomfort. At the time I rode it I had the Buell which isn't the comfiest of bikes but I remember feeling like my hands were very close together, my arse was very high and it felt like I was riding by holding on to the front wheel spindle.

Worth it for the engine though IMO.

Make sure you check the suspension is tight at the bottom.

LOTS of ZX6R's have suffered oil pressure failure when doing an oil change and not been fixed afterwards properly. Even the 'professional' mechanics do it. Most dont say/know about it.

Drain some oil from the bike and check for any swarf if they let you.

If you were a bit closer I'd kick your tyres Mr E. But that far north I'd have to pass I'm afraid....

People, are there any buying guides, shootouts, tests or anything I can look at?

The CCT rattles on lots of them so don't worry too much about it.

The brakes seize if not cleaned reasonably often(See Louise's thread), but when they are clean work very well.

As standard they came with a 120/65 front tyre, but a 120/70 fits with no mods and calms the flapping slightly.

Lots will have steering dampers, but personally I don't see the point yes it'll shake it's head when you press on, but it's not dangerous.

I've seen shootouts of it against the other 600s. The general outcome seems to be a complete hang banger. Very agressive, very fast, but slightly flawed. A CBR600RR is a better bike except the engine and higher purchase price. The engine in the B1h is just awesome.

O, and the rear shock really is that hard. Wink
