Done my first track evening on the 6th may, had a great night and i loved it, will prob be doing another one this month.

I thought i took to the track pretty well and was pretty much steaming round .

photo's courtesy of LukeVFR, and the ones with red writing across them are from brand's own photographer as luke was limited to where he could take pics from.

Luke did take loads of pics but i have just picked out a few of them that i liked Thumbs Up

enjoy...

Nice pics. If theres one thing I cant stand is 'professional' trackday photography cheating by taking crap pics with a fast shutter rate.

Atleast Luke did it the proper way (although some were clearly photoshopped/edited)

Seeing the tread of your tyres makes my blood boil!! Twisted Evil Cool

Wouldnt mind doing Brands but the price puts me off, even the tiny Indy circuit costs more than the full Donington GP track!

Agree it's annoying, but I see why they do it.

That 3rd pic is wicked. You make it look as if you have done loads of TDs, if you are interested in doing that track again I am doing it on the 4th June for the whole day. I put a post up in the racing forum, take a peek, there are 5 places left now... Wink

Definately my first time!

I might be doing another evening on the 28 th I think...
Novice again though, will prob move up to a faster group after that.

Bishbash, that pic was taken at the tight hairpin at the top of the hill,
Would of liked to see some pics from some of the faster corners though.

Must of been going low as the toe sliders on me new boots are scratched to fuck!!!

How did you find Brands as a first trackday?

I'm looking at either Silverstone national, becuase it's easy.....or Brands, because it's near...and cool!

What's wrong with that? Every photographer I know edits their pictures. It's been accepted as a part of photography now.

Nothing at all against editing, I just meant that the 'pro' photos were unedited.

Even with their top of the range dSLR's and lenses you'd expect better than a 1/1000+ shutter rate but I do understand why they wouldnt go silly with sub 1/100 shutter rates but with their quality lenses surely they can do a little better!

I sent the wife out at Donington with my 350D, a £85 300mm lens and set it at 1/500 shutter rate just to ensure they came out and those pics even had a decent amount of 'blur' and speed perception.

Heres two pics she took

https://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o114/DynaMight/Donington%202008/th_Untitled-3.jpg

I really want a better lens, I'm happy with the 350D but I think a mid spec £700ish lens would help greatly. Besides, you cant lose much money on lenses, they always hold their value well.

Wow, I'm so envious. My mum said she'd pay for a trackday as a well done for finishing uni etc. My last test is morning on the 28th...trackday I saw £75...on the 28th.

Really want to do it. Was going to go on the CBR, can you just turn up with your licence and cash and race? Obv helmet leathers etc. Don't need a racing licence or anything, I'm 21 too so that shouldn't be a prob.

You can ride at non-MSV circuits with No Limits on Hottrax on a 33bhp license.

So you can ride at Silverstone, Mallory, Pembrey, and a few other that I can't be arsed to list.

Big enough to break your nose, you cunt.

It's just the way the pics look I'm sure but really do you have to look through all the pics and say something like that.

People like you are the reason I wasn't going to put the pics up in the first place.

Get your feet further back on the pegs. Wink

You don't want to to through the screw heads and then not be able to get the sliders off.

Looking good though. Thumbs Up

When I'm cornering I have my feet as far back as they will go any way, my toe is literally just on the peg!

Maybe some gilles are in order....

That Arlen Ness suit looks top notch. Not sure if the white boots match but looks good anyway.

Shouldn't be a problem unless you have really big feet. I'm a size 9 and don't scrap my toes anymore, unless you're sort of size 11 or up it shouldn't matter.

Maybe I'm not. Smile

I used to scrape my toes on track, but I just found my toes were hanging off slightly, it's not something you really notice unless you're on track. I just slightly changed my foot position and happy days.

https://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h267/Big_Ham/RYE_7220-1.jpg

Unless you're getting the pegs down I would have thought it was a waste of money, and more down to technique, but hey ho, it's up to you. Smile

Have you been on track on your b1h yet though?

Different bike so foot position might be different.

I took the Hero slider things of my pegs so they don't scrape....

I wouldn't deliberately try and scrape the toe sliders but surely that's why they are there... To save your boots...

What track is that you are on???

I think most standard rearsets can be quite easily decked out when pushing, I was doing it quite a bit when the 636 had standard ones, but now very unlikely with aftermarket ones Smile

Mind you I dont really hang off enough!
https://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o114/DynaMight/SWB%20Trackday%202007/th_IMG_1793.jpg

Had a 'scare' at Donington at my SP1, went into Redgate much faster than I should, so just chucked it in and kept leaning further and further, kept lifting my knee up again then suddenly my toe started scraping. A little worrying with aftermarket rearsets as far up and back as they go, hell even the exhaust sticks out further. Afterwards I couldnt help thinking that's how I should had been taking that corner all day long Smile
