Thoughts?

Looks ok to me, and apparently will match the Japs in price!

Sounds stupid, but I would have liked it to be slightly more German looking, it looks just like another 1000cc Jap bike IMO.

Confused with that asymmetry?

I doubt the Japanese would do that, probably breaks some motorcycling feng-shui.

Other than that I do like.
However, if I go for a BMW it'd be about distance rather than sportyness so would opt for one of the ST (or maybe LT) tourer variants.

Thumbs Up

I've always wondered about the BMW propensity for asymmetrical lights. What gives? It just means that it looks like their head designer has the horn for Picasso, in my book.
Service costs will be entertaining, but it'll be pretty well made, and should be nice and reliable, from what I'm told.

I quite like that headlight set up... and im not sure why.

It looks a bit like a "what the fuck" smilie. Mr. Green

What, did they have two design guys and they had a fight so ended up with each others design on one half of the bike?! It's just plain wrong. Thumbs Down

I agree with the negative comments about the headlight, and think they will loose sales from it.

Although saying that, everything else coming out looks fairly weird/horrible but alot of them are growing on me...

But right now...I'm not a fan of it looks wise in street livery!

The engine better be good!

P.s, the dash looks quite nifty..

LOL. well if all you can find to complain about is the headlamp...

it didn't affect sales of the 1150 and 1200 though... or indeed reduce the waiting list for the HP2 sport (though the headlamp on that is a bit more subtle.)

Sooner or later opinions fade and the name on the tank matters not. I think that happens somewhere between 3rd and 4th gear. Enjoy the ride... everything else takes care of itself.

The only good thing about it is the headlight. The rest is just a bit too mainstream for me. Just looks like any other 1000cc sports bikes.

The headlight is the only thing that really makes it stand out from the R6, the sidepanels and tail are all quite close if you ask me.

Still if I was in the market for a new 1000cc superbike, it'd either be an RSV4, the new R1 or an 1198S Thumbs Up

That green/yello colour they're using for most of the publicity shots is bloody awful.

Looks like it's from a 98 nissan micra.

Otherwise Thumbs Up

It looks good...

I never said I disliked the headlamps, per se, I just don't get them. It wouldn't stop me from buying a BMW bike - the parts costs are what'd do that for me.
Other than that, it does just look like a fairly tidy, but otherwise totally average litre track bike. To me, at least, but I'm no track rider.

Here's a silly question but what engine is powering it?

Is it the typical BMW opposed twin? (I think thats what its called?) or flat twin or something?

Edit: Just found that it's just another IL4 Sad
