Long story short..

Sold xbox on ebay, sent last Thursday 1st class, waiting for feedback so i can withdraw money from paypal, seller is not leaving feedback so my money is on hold.

& I'm broke, have no money so it's all down to this poxy ebayer whether or not he wants to leave me feedback otherwise it's another 20 day wait till the funds get released.

I've messaged him but no response.

Argh!

There was a thread similar to this a wee while ago - if you refund a penny, I think you can withdraw the funds.

I tried that but it didn't seem to work, Paypal have probably caught onto it. Sad

Can you not withdraw money until you have feedback for the transaction now?
That's a bit shit. However, it might stop the chancer that I've got a claim against withdrawing the money he's meant to be refunding me.

Yup, you have to either wait until 21 days or so have past or you receive positive feedback.

Got a message from the guy saying he'd received it yesterday but still no feedback. Thumbs Down

I sold an XBOX360 on eBay at the beginning of the month, he hasn't paid for it or got in contact, I can't relist it because it's all under a dispute - fudging annoying!

Never EVER send items of any more value than a tenner over non recorded delivery, to prevent potentially being exploited over it.

Is this a recent thing?

Sold an ipod last sunday and I withdrew the moeny from paypal straight away. Only just got the feedback today.

EDIT - Damn, just checked my account, money is still there. Good, means I can now spend it on whatever I wish as I figured it had already gone in my account! Wink

Do what I do now, only advertise for cash on collection. Only works if you live somewhere like London though - lots of buyers. Mr. Green

You folks should have a look at paypalsucks.com for some real horror stories.

Basically if you sign up to Paypal and have your bank account linked they can help themselves to any thing at anytime they please.

They have no concept of the idea of your money, as far as they are concerned, if you earned it on eBay or it passed through paypal, its theirs forever; they only lend it to you.

I'd rather go through gumtree myself and swap cash face to face, the idea of getting a bargain from eBay is over-played, I may search for something using it but I buy it direct. If they don't have a phone number I take the hit and pay more elsewhere.

If you want a laugh, try communicating with their customer 'help' desk. Its just Indian people randomly stringing English words together adding your first name in from time to time.

If you do phone them and actually get through to a person, they will ask if they can use your first name, say no! Shocked

Thumbs Up
