Posted: 23:31 - 13 May 2009 Post subject: Where to take a girl on a rainy day? |
 |
|
I have a date with a girl on Friday and assuming the weather is ok I have a plan sorted for what we're going to do but I just took a look at the long term weather forecast for my area and it's not looking good.
Good weather plan is - Take advantage of the beautiful scenery here in North Wales and go for a ride on the bike up to a secluded lake I know of and take a picnic and generally chill out and have a relaxing afternoon up there then go for a meal somewhere in the evening.
I'm trying to do this day on the cheap (because I'm broke, not because I'm tight!) so I wouldn't want to end up just going to the cinema/meal or something like that if it's raining as it's boring and unimaginative aswell as a bit of a rip off in my opinion. The girl is outgoing and adventurous if that makes a difference but I'm drawing blanks for things to do if the weather is crap.
I don't want to go down the museum route because it's not really very exciting and she said she wanted an "adventure" and doing something like going to a town for a bit of shopping would be a bit pants because I'm broke and it's not very adventurous.
I know of loads of good weather places we can go but it's really annoying me now I can't think of anywhere for if it's raining and I'm beginning to panic a bit!
So has anyone here had any non cinema/museum rainy dates? ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

I believe it is only proper when courting a young lady to first punch her in the tits.
Just kidding. Take her to Greggs the baker then go chase some seagulls. ____________________ Current Bikes: Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (2020)

Whatever happens, you should get yourself one of these. Was featured on the BBC show Genius with Dave Gorman a few weeks ago - you'll never need to go cold and wet in the pursuit of chivalry ever again!
Happy to help,

Oops, I can't read... I would have just turned up with my date and ruined the day!
Personally, I wouldn't care about being out in the rain - go and climb Snowdon, that would be an adventure ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

Do you know of any fairly rocky places with natural caves? Take her out on the bike, pack a picnic, take a groundsheet.
Alternately, do you have a fishing shelter? You know, those half-tent things?
Seriously, dude: if we all bowed to the weather, none of us would've ever been spawned. This is the UK. We specialise in capitalising on shit weather. At least you've got some awesome scenery nearby: I'm stuck in the middle of East fucking London. Rainy city dates are 100% of arse.
Imagine the kudos - you took a girl out on an outdoors date that was epic, even though it pissed it down.
If that doesn't work, then maybe she shouldn't have asked for an adventure, then ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

Ha ha, anal sex and watersports, nice one BCF (OK maybe it's my sick mind taking the watersports thing the wrong way but anyhoo... )
Right, I checked out and the nearest ice rink is Deeside which is about 35 miles away and has day sessions so shouldn't be too busy and Cheshire Oaks is just around the corner for fancy eatery places so thats definitely a good suggestion.
There are loads of Castles up here but they're all mainly outside kind of places so we'd still end up getting soaked as the forecast is dire
There's Colwyn Bay zoo but that's mainly outdoors apart from the reptile enclosures so we'd get soaked there aswell and all the other wildlife centres up here are outdoors although there always the Blue Planet Aquarium in Chester...
Bouldering at Plas y Brenin is always a good idea! Although last time I went I ended up ripping my hands to shreds
There's millions of seagulls in North Wales but not many Greggs the bakers but I'll keep that one in reserve just in case
Ha ha, that coat things looks amazing! ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

Thought about some coasteering (climbing in the wet anyway FTW ) or surfing?
Probably more ideas for the next date, providing you get the first one right!! ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

either way pyb do really good courses ive been climbing and kayaking with them in the past and cant rate them enough to be honest
surfing and coasteering are both pretty good fun too i went coasteering in cornwall and they put you in so much kit for safety it was like trying to walk in a fat suit |
