Insurance company says they 'don't allow buying back of the vehicle'

Do we have a right to buy the vehicle back?

What is the law about this?

There is no legal right to my knowledge, it's a clause that you ask to be attached to the policy on inception (salvage clause).

Is it possible to tell them you do not wish to make a claim on your own car (and get the car back as it is with no payout) but they still pay to fix the other vehicle?

Should be possible, but if you're getting money anyway, is it worth it?

They told me similar, I asked for reasons why not and they then offered me the option to buy it back.
