Did anyone go today?

Just wondering what to look out for in terms of cheap gear and special offers?

Looking for a helmet, jeans/combats, gloves and boots

I gave up going to the BMF looking for bargains years ago.
much of it is 2nd`s, last years version, or faulty stuff thats been returned by customers. Basically its the stuff they can`t shift
Add in the cost of entry to the BMF, fuel to/from there. it soon adds up making it not such a bargain.

With the internet (ebay, online stores etc) you can at least shop without feeling pressured into buying, buying something on impulse that you regret later, and be able to return stuff back should it be faulty or the wrong size. Where as you won`t be able to do that at the BMF

If bargain hunting is your only reason for going to the BMF, I`d stay at home and save the cash

I went down for the afternoon, I live around Peterborough so it's not too much of a trek for me. It was the first time I'd been and I quite enjoyed myself.

There were a few bargains about, particularly in the form of leathers and jackets and similar. But I know what Peirre means, there was a lot of stuff there you could tell were seconds and returns. Look carefully at what you buy! When you consider that most things were priced pretty closely to their shop prices, I'd sooner go to the store.

Still a good day out though.

There were some bargains to be had. Strangely alot of stuff was sold out by Saturday afternoon? My brother was after some black Oxtar boots, we asked about 5/6 stalls selling Oxtars (Blue/Red) and they had ALL sold out of them?!

I would say it was a bit dissapointing, but I managed to get this Arlen Ness 1piece for £299

On J&S website it is up for £550 Cool

It was the last one they had, and is a size 42....somehow I managed to fit into it (36" waist, 42" chest) it's tight as hell but will hopefully loosen up after wearing it in!

My advice, if you see a deal that looks really good, get it as soon as you see it! Also, my brother bought some WOLF leathers for £250, and they look really good and well made!

I watched a fake Meatloaf (Maetloaf he was called, pretty good actually) act on stage at night and I could see a bloke in a wheelchair at the back in the dark. He had two women draped all over him through the show. When the lights flared up I could see it was Eddie Kid.

The amount of stalls looked very small compared to years past, I was a bit shocked.

I got a Shoei (rrp£429 online £389) couldnt miss that came with clear and smoked visor (£50) neck and chin thingys all for for £200. Checked it over its new not a mark in it everything sealed etc.

Taxdisk holder for £8 (rrp£16 oxford) and they had some supertech R's for £199 (rrp £260) but I dont need any boots.

So some great offers to be had just gotta be patient and selective. There is a lot of crap for sale/old stock/2nd's etc but quite a few bargins.
