Nice
I've seen a few posts on other forums about problems with these bikes - I suppose any brand new models are going to have some teething problems. At least BMW give you a proper warranty unlike the orange bikes. |

I'd be scared taking a bike miles out into the country with no kicker though |

Cheers guys for the compliments. Can't wait to get her back for some dirty fun.
Agreed, the exhaust is exposed, this was/is a concern as the ti. Akra manifold's nearly £400 on it's own ( ) so have had a look for bash guards etc up front but no luck.
As for having no kick, doesn't exactly get me worried. The trouble's not finding a hill to bump start it but pushing the bike up it!
Have also put a 14tooth pinion sprocket up front from the DOT approved 15t, wired the ecu and messed about with the suspension.
Hadn't set the sag up too well originally for competitions, although it was good enough for greenlaning.
May go for some WP 48mm suspension up front for next season, need to see how much Knighter wants for his! ____________________ Too Fast For Even The Plod To Keep Up With |

What a hunk of junk!! Only at 38.2 hours and the bastard wont start! Cranks over OK, but battery dies, recharge battery and try cranking over again with no luck...so guess what? It's back at the dealer to get fixed!
My guess it's sensor related which requires an expensive diagnostics system, which the dealer has and outside of warranty the labour/costs wouldn't even be worth the effort...
Warranty runs out in a couple months or there abouts, so may bin it for a Husqvarna before then... there also wont be any 2011 G450Xs, don't think the BMW Motorrad Techs like to repair bikes that are covered in mud! ____________________ Too Fast For Even The Plod To Keep Up With |
