Revoke. Same thing happened to my mate, he had to do his CBT again and redo his test. Could pretty much do it immediately after being revoked; but the logistics of sorting out CBT and test often delays things.

I think if you get any points after passing, you're effectively shafted and revoked again!

Just a revoke and normal test, it happened to me a few years back.

The six points will stay on your license for 4 years and any more points added when you get your license back will see it revoked again.

New drivers act here:

https://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/LearnerAndNewDrivers/NewlyQualifiedDrivers/DG_4022566

Looks like they scrapped the extended re-test thing as I can find no mention of it.

My friend got 6 points for speeding, licence revoked and had to re-do CBT and test.

Funny thing is, he had 6months left on his restricted licence but had just turned 21. So when he passed his test again, he was un-restricted and able to go even faster...

I had 6 points striaght away, the DVLA will send you a letter telling you your license has been revoked after the court hearing. Then you just go back and re do it. unless ofcourse you get it under special circumstances. Other than that theres no problem, you also get a completely clean license. Thumbs Up

Also as soon as you get the new license youre no longer under the new drivers act and are allowed upto 12 points, although its not advisable.

Critical words being *up to* I believe.

You will have 6 points on your licence for four years, and allowed UP TO 12 I believe.

Who told you that?

If your license is revoked, you have NO license.

You start again once retaking your test, and are under the new drivers act for another two years.

Although with six points already on your license even one point will mean no license again.

Bear in mind that certain offences carry mandatory disqualification, so you may find that you dont get 6 points you just get banned for 12 months...

Especially if it actually involved 4th gear wheelies...
