Also used my lathe to make an rm500 stem fit into a drz400 yoke. Use your imagination to what im fitting front end wise...

I'm using the drz400e forks which are ment to be better for offroading but probably going to get supermoto wheels for road too.

Treated the engine to new bearings and seals. Parts are a nightmare have ordered from America and across Europe now. Garage is a mess because of partition being built. Embarassed

Frame, engine and swingarm (new bearings and chain defence/runners) all together now. If you squint you can almost see a bike, haha.

Think I've developed an addiction. I keep stock piling on parts that I don't actually need. I bought a new old stock conrod, complete bottom end etc. Just because parts seem to be so rare and maybe i might need them in the future!?

Update...
Picked up barrel at 8am today (rebored). I spent all of today cleaning it and sand blasted some of the loose paint/corrosion off. The fins are massive and deep. I had to cut customize a tooth brush by cutting the thistles so it could fit all the way down. Put it in the oven so it can dry and be warm for paint.

Started spraying. Got to wait 2 hours for next coat. This was expensive engine paint. My dad uses it on his Triumph and looks great so fingers crossed it will pay off.

Well, the rear wheel has been rebuilt with new spokes and rim. Rear shock is with a suspension pro. Hopefully get news on the shock this week.

It's slowly coming together. Got many things on the go. Constantly fixing my gf's bros400. dr250 is my main offroading bike had to do quite alot of work on that to.

Its more together than this last photo i took. Also my garage has finally been finished. So got a proper bench and organisers now Very Happy

Yes, I definitely remember a thread he did where he dropped the engine, pulled it apart swapped the barrels & pistons over, put it all back together, stuck it in the bike and made it work all in one day.

I recall that he described it as easy. Laughing

EDIT
