Ok ppls.

I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out with a bit of a problem.
I have a dna 50, it goes top speed of around 50 55. But off the line its imbarrising! Embarassed pedal bikes takes off quicker and thats with OAP riding. (rolls backwards up a hill at the lights!) scared to turn in or pull out of a road incase a car hits me. I took it to the garage and they side change the bell and the rollers but when i got it back its didnt make any difference at all!. Then they told me to upgrade it to a 70cc bore kit but they said that might not make much of a difference. Rather that forking out loads of £ could anyone let me know whats the best way around this. (or do these dna just have terrible accelerations?) Someone told me its the clutch that need changing.

Put it in the workshop section, you will get more feedback.
Does sound like it could be a clutch problem.
What have you done to it to make it do 55mph.
Sounds like you or the previous people have tuned the bike all wrong.
Have you tryed lighter rollers ?
When you set off is it bogging or still revving at full wack ?

Changing the weight of the rollers and other things can effect things like acceleration a lot.... a 50 should be able to hold its self on a hill with a little bit of throttle.

probably best asking in the workshop where people know what they are going on about though Thumbs Up

I'm new to this, i will add it onto the workshop section.
I haven't done anything to it apart from taking it in to the gargage to get it fixed (rollers belt) Bike was like that when I bought it, I felt it was really slow when I tested it, but the seller said DNA are like that! So I thought nothing of it. Not sure what all these rollers thingy are? But ppl in the garage said they put the best ones on? bogging?? I think its just revving and not moving off very quick. If you actually put you foot down you will not move.

Well if you have got your moped to go 55 mph I don't see why your complaining

Put the standard exhaust back on along with all the rest of the bodged crap that on it get your clutch rollers sorted out you will be happier in the long run.

I'm not complaining about the top end just asking for advices on how to improve the acceleration department! Because you don't want to rush to the front of the traffic light and then watch peddle bikes take off and cars beeping you from behind and you having to push of with your feet to get the thing moving.

I don't have any of the standard parts because I bought the bike like that. But yes my next step is probably the clutch. (Blood impossible to take the nut off!! If any one know how abouts to go round this please let me know)

I think the Haynes manual has a trick for doing it...

Could be worth getting if you want to do work on it, although the scooter Haynes manual covers lots of scooters and not just DNAs
