If you want a flavour of bike ownership rather than technique (makes a bit of a change) then the GoodMotorcycles site has articles from the defunct Used Motorcycle Guide (UMG).
Other than that, as said above, read Motorcycle Roadcraft and try to sign up for some training, like a local Bikesafe or see if you can get a taster session with your local IAM Motorcycle group.
