Hi all,
Really like the look of these bikes, definately interested in getting one. Just wanted opinions on the ride of them, what sort of power they put out, handling etc? Any specific issues with them? Ring/piston change intervals?
A 3cyl 2t with downdraft carbies is definately unique!
Ta,

Hi
Back when new they had a reputation for being one of the best handling bikes you could get. Issue with that now would be finding good tyres in the appropriate sizes. Not as quick as an RD500 or RG500, and they sound like 3 ducks farting.
Biggest issue is likely to be lack of spares. Honda no longer seem to care about supplying parts for older bikes, and their dislike of 2 strokes seems to make parts for 2 strokes the hardest to get.
All the best

I used to have one years ago. I loved it. I keep being tempted by the ones on ebay cos I'd love to have one again. Great bikes but as Kickstart says, they sound awful until you rag it......
Oh yeah, Rothmans colours FTW |

Chassis is exquisite for a bike of that era, with great build quality. Shame that the bike is no faster in a straight line than an F2 powervalve Keith is spot on about the spares situation too, while not a hugely fragile engine, any stroker that doens't have readily available engine spares is a very daunting prospect. ____________________ 18:54:48 Rob Fzs: jews don't give away stuff for free
