Hey,
Purchased a bike over the weekend that has been off the road for around 5 years (runs like a dream though), obviously this means its SORN'd, anyone know what i have to do to get it taxed?

Its got a valid MOT certificate + Valid insurance, so no worries about that.

Go to the post office with your V5, MOT and insurance. Job done.

(I presume you have the green bit of the V5).

Its that easy? I've got my part of the V5 but have not yet got the part back from the DVLA, will this still be ok?

Yes it's that easy, and yes you only need the green bit.

All you need is MOT, insurance, and the green bit.

As it'll be a recent MOT then you could try online. Click here for site.

If you haven't got the V5 then you can check what's online for the bike and if necessary apply for a new one - see here (V62 application form pdf download here).

If you've only recently purchased the bike and you tax it online the tax disc may be sent to the previous owner's address as it may not have been updated on the DVLA's systems. Best to nip to your local post office as mentioned above Smile then get riding!

Good point, i've found a main post office near my work (about a minute away) so i'll go as soon as the insurance certificate comes through the post.
