Removing the glass from a uPVC window

we have ordered a sofa and chair and i don't think it'll fit through the doors.

am i right in thinking you just pop the 4 edge bits of plastic on the inside and glass "falls" out.

any tips on what to use to pop the bits out?

I used to use a half moon knife when fitting beading but a nice sharp chisel will do the job,start at a corner and inch it out bit by bit along the entire length.Getting it back in can be more of a pain as you need to get he angle just right or it falls out in your hands.

pretty much as i thought then. i hope it goes through the door but i suspect it wont

i found that taking the wrapping off helped mate. Reduced the width considerably!

Also try standing on its top end.

We got our old 3 seater completely wedged in the door was so funny!!

oddly we had the reverse when we had the last one delivered (old house not this one)

the fabric warping the sofa came in compressed it loads so it slide through the door without a problem.

on moving out, it was more difficult to get it out of the same door.

on moving into our new (current house) it went through the porch door no problem but the original front door is curved at the top which made it more difficult, it stuck and snagged the leather. in the end we took the door off but even then it was a bugger.

i am sure the new seat and sofa are deeper (front to back) which will only make matters worse so i want to be prepared to pop the window out.

Maybe taking the door(s) off be easier.

I only mention this as we got a new table the other night. Went in the front door to the hall ok but couldn't get it any further. Took the internal door off which allowed more room to turn it as it went through the opening.

I would go with trying to remove doors first,most sofas will go in,even the modern huge ones,i used to deliver them and they always went in eventually.If you do go the window route knock the beading back in with a plastic mallet or a block of wood and a hammer.
