RS125 scene

Hello,

I live in Japan and have started getting into track days and some light-hearted racing. I was wondering what the RS125 (GP bike) track scene was like in the UK. I want to know if I brought back a strictly race RS125 with me when I eventually move back to England if I will find it easy to get into it again.
How easy is it to get to track days? How much does it cost? Are there regular promotions and not-too-serious races? Are the rtack days very frequent?

Honda or Aprilia?

I don't think we have many people on here with experience of the honda.

Sounds like mucho fun though. I would love to try a track day sometime! Must fix bike first though

There's a track day somewhere or other on most days through out the summer. Looking at between £80-£250 depending on the popularity of the track.

There are plenty of races series, most pretty amauter on the 'club scene', so you can probably find something to suit.

It would be a Honda, but I haven't bought it yet. I'm trying to decide whether I can be bothered with a ultra-high maintenance track-only machine (although it eats big bikes for breakfast on a small circuit).

I rode my friends bike and I took to it instantly. Those bikes are just incredible!

I think they still make them. Don't know how much for though.

There seems to be a trend now with company's not allowing race bikes on track days. At the momnet I think its only MCN and darley moor that wont let race bikes out, but more companys will probably follow.

Can see very little point in buying a new honda rs125 unless you're a /very/ good rider with a lot of money to compete for a whole season.

A few tracks have noise limits as well... so no way a GP bike would pass the road legal limits they specify.

Sorry this is completely off topic, but why does invigiator have such bad karma? he's only posted 3 things that are all decent (ish) spelling and he hasn't pissed anyone off yet so just wondered why the Karma system is treating him so badly?

Thanks again for the information about the RS125 stuff. It looks like I'm about to invest in a '95 model. I hope it won't be completely outlawed by the time I get back to the UK.
