I recently purchased a C&S kit from fleabay, it was advertised as DID X Ring Chain and sprocket kit.

I assumed the sprockets would be a similar quality to the chain, but when I opened it they are made by "power rite" and "techcorps" I think taiwanese carbon steel.

Is it sensible to get these "unbranded" sprockets fitted to a CBR600 which is quite demanding on chain due to power and a thirst for hard acceleration. OR shall I send them back and get some JT sprockets or similair?

Anyone had any experience with these oriental sprockets? will they outlast the chain?

Here is the dodgy kit in question:

People use alloy sprockets so if they are steel, I suspect they'll be ok.

haven't left feedback yet, I just assumed the sprockets would be a japanese quality brand as the chain is - was slightly dissapointed when I opened the pack.

Need to figure out if they are ok to fit and if not will ask for a refund or swap with decent kit.

ask the seller first why they're advertised and packaged as DID items.

Steel are better than alloy sprockets. They wear slower and are tougher.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I know that, this is the point in the thread, I'm questioning the quality of the sprockets.

It's not dodgy. D.I.D don't make sprockets, their kits always have OE spec sprockets from other manufacturers.

Techcorps is a good brand. So good that a lot of their kit is stamped and sold as JT. Can't comment on Power Rite.
