Makes me want to get rid of the slipper clutch in my drz and learn how to back it in. I've got very good tyres, they get warmer in 5 minutes of gentle riding than my rf does after a half hour hoon

The idea of backing it in (sliding it) is that when you hit the apex of the corner (or just after) you are pointing to the corner exit so that you can get on the power a lot earlier....making it quicker between corners.

Where as a sports bike will just lean and get on the power a lot later and nearer straightening the bike up.

So yes it does look cool but it does have a purpose. I could back my XT125X in (not very well but i did try my best ), done it a few times on the DRZ but i ended up going slower than just hooning and riding normally. You ask anyone that races SuMo's and they will tell you that they don't do it on purpose, it just happens with the riding style needed for riding a SuMo quickly.
