drum brakes i presume?
its nothing to worry about, brake squeal can be caused by the dust or the pad surface getting to shiny, takeing them off (do one at a time and DO NOT test them on the road) use copper grease in small amounts on the cam (the bit which forces the brakes apart to contact the drum)..
There SHOULD be a wear indicator on the brake, its a small piece of metal with an arrow, apply whichever brake fully and if the arrow on the marker goes past the marker on the drum then you will need new pads (provided whoever did them last did them properly)
Probably just need roughing up, get some fine wet and dry and give them a little bit of a rub over it should stop them for a little while... i had mine completely apart a while ago and cleaned out all the dust copper sliped the cam (because it had seized) and it hasn't squeaked for months...
Don't try this without... a manual, proper tools or a torque wrench, you will also need at least one new split pin..
Take your time, two things will stop a motorbike, one is brakes and the other is a solid object ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |
