Right, last year at work, My manager went for a wonder up the shop. And returned with a plastic Fish Tank. he saw it outside a charity shop for 50p.

He came back with it, Then when I questioned why he'd bought it, He said he didn't know, It was only 50p. Laughing

Anyway, he went across to the pet shop after, And bought a couple of Gold Fish.

A few weeks later, He went back across, And came back with what looks like the Mr T version of a gold fish. Its like a black Goldfish on steroids.

Anyway, The manager Left. Got a new manager in. he didn't want the fish, And So I've brought them home.

They are on the side in my kitchen. My question is, When I go to bed at night, Do they need a light left on at all? or are they okay in total darkness?

Laughing

If its just goldfish they're just fine in the dark, have a goldfish from a fair who gets left in the dark and hes coming on 7 years or so now! intense.

Goldfish are pretty resiliant as long as they dont swim into the blades in a filter. ^^

I am going to have to rate this thread as funny!

I am sure that all the goldfish that live in lakes look for a light switch just before they go to bed Smile Smile

Even better, you could set up a infrared camera (webcam without the polarising filter: they're easy to make), and film them at night. Put it on the internet as 'hardcore gonzo fish action' - you'll get hundreds of hits within five minutes...

you should let them die because they are boring. Get some livebearers like like sword tails, mollies, guppies, platies etc... until you get bored and let them die and move onto some malawi's or soemthing... it's a never ending cycle until you go marine but then can't afford to keep the maintenence and sell up completely.

You should have a chat to that Blue svs bloke, he too is another saddo that keeps fish as pets. You could swap tips and hints with him, I'm sure he'll be happy for a friend. Cool
