Hey i'm doing alot of styling to my peugeot speedfight 2 and i want to make it look like this.
https://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww72/Clarkee09/ExamplePaintjob.jpg
as you have probably noticed, there is handles bars. Which is what im going to do to mine aswel.
Problem is, then I wont have a speedo. I know you can buy ones off adreanlin-pedstop etc,, but they are rather expensive.

Would a normal wired Bicycle speedo work ?
and is this legal ?

thanks.

you wont pass your MOT with it, but it is legal, they wont display the speed as good or fast.

Why not?

The only problem I see is that it will not light up and you will not be able to see it in the dark.

Which in itself isn't an issue, i've been riding around day and night with no backlight on my clocks for the last month, just need to be reasonably sencible Thumbs Up

Only time i had an issue was when i ended up out later than i though and i had to ride home in the dark with my tinted visor, didn't stand a chance of seeing the speedo then Brick Wall

Not sure how easy it would be but you may be able to fit a speedo off a Peugeot Metal X.

Yes they are, but they don't have to work as the M.O.T tester has no way of testing that.

Don't think you need a speedo in the eyes of the MOT, however in the eyes of the law you need a speedo to be road legal. It's a bit of an anomoly that one IIRC.

+1!

Problem you've got as well with no speedo, (no clue on your top speed) is that it's a great deal easier to accrue speeding tickets and points on your license, and if you get stopped by a copper and he notices you've got no speedo you'll probably find yeself in the shit!
