hey, just wondering i had an off a couple of months ago and since then one of my pupils has stopped responding to light, the pupil is permanently small.
So i did a little google-age and it looks like a sign of concussion etc. I was under the impression that there was very little head trauma in the off but apparently i broke both cheek bones
anyone here have any experience with this?
everyone loves a picture:

+1 for the hospital idea and what Monkeypie has been saying.
There are a number of things which can cause the nerve damage which allows your pupils to react to light, especially with facial fractures given that there's much more 'stuff' (nerves, blood vessels, lymph vessels, muscles, bones, sinuses, soft tissues etc. you get the picture!) per cubic cm compared with e.g. your leg. Sometimes it is just bruised/lightly damaged and will repair its self and return to normal function after a few weeks/months, but if there is an underlying problem, e.g. a fracture, which is holding the nerve down or rubbing against it then it won't heal until this gets sorted.
Best thing to do is get yourself to a Doctor/hospital and explain the situation to them. They may want to run a few tests and take a few measurements and get you back to see if things improve or they may want to do something a bit more pro-active. Either way there's no point sitting on it if not just for your peace of mind.
Cheers, Stu |

Can you actually see out of both eyes?
You should get this checked professionally.
That is my professional oppinion as you clearly have either retinal or cranial nerve damage. Both would be better treated sooner rather than later and diagnosis would require a series of (fairly simple) tests that you can't do to yourself. Most of which involve shining a light in one or both of your eyes and watching what happens.
Do you have a sore ear too? ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I love the way people ask in here instead of asking their GP. |
