Looking at getting an 09 z750, really liked it at the shop today, felt comfier than my er6 too (i'm quite tall and the er6 sometimes squashes me on long runs)

Anyone got one? What are they like?

I would be restricted for another 10 months ish, would it handle it well?

I have been offered £3100 for my bike without even talking about doing a deal, which isnt bad since i paid £3900 last year for it new. Its an 08 er6f, does this seem about right?, ive seen them go on biketrader for less. Also i have mushrooms on my bike atm, will this add to its trade in value if i told them?

Mike

kawakid has a Z750 IIRC, Torque05 used to have one.

RiDE voted it the worst handling bike a few years back.

That was the earlier model 06-07, Hopefully they should have sorted out the shock on the 09 model. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I have an '04 Z, I find it handles pretty great so long as the road is smooth.

I think the fact that I'm a lardy bugger helps, as the rear shock may as well be made of concrete...

It still launches me a bit on bumpy roads, which is interesting.

Still love it! Would definitely consider getting after market bits if I had the money, though.

The newer ones are meant to be softer, if memory serves.

I have an 06 plate Z750s, and whilst i love it, it can be a bit harsh on bumpy roads - a week in ireland definantly proved that to me. I am currently looking at replacing the rear shock. I have gained loads of confidence on this bike and my husband rode it for the first time in Ireland and he loved it. Described it like having a toy to play with, throwing it into corners and it reacting well. It definantly keeps up well with his bike (a sprint 955) and i managed to leave a sprint 1050 behind in opening the throttle up - not sure if i caught him unawares or what Laughing

For me it is probably my ideal bike, crappy shock and all - though when i can afford i will get a better shock for it.

Best £300 I have ever spent is a new shock on the Z.

Its transformed it immensely, its so much smoother and as you are no longer getting knocked out of your seat, you can give it more, especially on not so perfect tarmac.

It takes about 30 mins to fit and i'm no mechanical expert.

I bought a Hagon .

And I bought it from Hagon.

They can also custom the shock for your height/weight for an extra £50.

Torque05's a good mate of mine, he did have an 05 z750. He rode it amazingly well considering the bad rep it got. He also did little to no servicing on it and it ran sweet as a nut.
Not my preffered bike mind, but he loved it.

Thanks for the replies, decided not to go for it because:

1) the insurance companies are dicks and say it will cost an extra £400 a year (over double) just because its brand new, a 2 year old one would cost me an extra £10 a year

2) the stories of bad handling

3) i saw one while out in the van yesterday going the other way and it didn't stand out like i thought it would even though it was green
