Smelly Hands!

Does anyone else have a pair of gloves that make their hands smell like old mans feet?

i did......soak them in handwash and rinse, let them dry naturally then bung the leather cream on. Job done

Spray some frebreeze or similar in them.

Pure handwash? or diluted handwash? any kind of handwash?

I can understand that part but what does the leather cream do? and exactly what is this leather cream stuff when its at home?

If your gloves are leather washing them spoils the flexibility of the leather and it can start to stiffen and crack The leather cream 'treats' it so that it remains supple

I did and bought some anti bacterial hand wash, the kind that you don't need to use with water it just dissolves on your hands like nail varnish

Anther good tip, when you go to the petrol station grab a good handful of the free plastic gloves, your hands will slide into the gloves like butter and they stop the smell outright.

Put them in the freezer for 12 hours, the cold kills the bacteria that causes the pong. Worked for me for over 20 years.

I sprayed Oust onto a leather chair once and it fell apart, so check first before using anything similar - ie read all of the small print on the can, this is where I later found 'Do not use on....leather' hidden.

Heres an update on the smelly gloves saga. The freezer trick worked kind of. There was still a hint of a stink after one wearing and the full blown pong was back on the second wearing

So i might try the baking soda idea next
