....Anybody off out and about?

Where and who with etc? Are you scratching, touring or bimbling?

Me, quick blast in the morning to test me brakes. Then possibly a run to the Northumberland coast in the late afternoon.

Life is sweet when the sun shines Wink

Hi, i'll be continuing my exploration of the B-roads and single tracks of the Peak District Laughing Today i came to a hill with an off camber left hander, back end kicked out under throttle. I was too busy looking at the next corner and hadn't noticed a wet patch under the trees. No arse clench this time, just rode it out.

To help out Tr8theshape, I swapped my Friday off next week for today.

What a swap, 24C, Glorious sunshine.

I did a long trip up to Devil's, then through the lakes, Kendal, Keswick, Carlisle.

I then took the M6 for half an hour, called in at the services rated best in the country (they were shit hot, outside barbecue, lovely countryside location), then I took junction 36 of the M6 (Kirby Lonsdale) and followed back all the way home.

Ohh forgot to say , when I turned of at Junction 36 (its a roundabout/bridge above the motorway) , there was a young women/teenager, who had climbed over the railings and was sitting just above the motorway, legs hanging over as 2 people were talking to her and all the traffic stopping. Don't know if she jumped or not, not my cup of tea, I left em to it.

Me & him heading for a bimble up to Northumberland too, will be stopping over somewhere around Hexham I think and exploring pretty much everywhere from Kielder to the coast if we get chance.

Tentative route so far is M6 to Penrith, over Hartside to Hexham, drop overnight bags off, head out to Kielder Water, the forest and possibly Hadrians Wall, beer in Hexham Sat night then over to the coast on Sunday, back to Hexham again for B&B and home via Kirby Lonsdale on Monday when it's a bit quieter.

Should be good. Smile

Lovely route (if you fancy) would be:-

from Hexham to Morpeth. Join the Coastal Route (well signposted) and up through the villages to Bamburgh. Quick stop off to explore the castle and an ice-cream on the beach. Then across inland towards Wooller and south towards Rothbury.

Probably about 120 miles total but some really good roads and fantastic scenery.

Enjoy yer trip Laughing

...but I'm tempted to get the NC30 out for its first proper run. Thinking
