Looks quite useful, especially for work:

cool find that one. Very interesting.

I won't pretend to understand it all but from an end user perspective it looks super functional with lots of scope for for all manner of applications.

Be interesting to see how it's applied and if it's picked up as a direct replacement of email.

If all these waves sit on a server for example a work server, there must be a way to delete old waves rather than saving them there forever.
So I'm curious if there are multiple people interacting via a wave and all but one wishes to delete it does it stay on the server or can it be saved locally ?
I guess at the end of the day it would simply be one wave as opposed to several versions being held under each email address.

Anyway....interesting. I watched the whole lot of it. Thumbs Up

If these waves are stored on servers, does that mean that someone could potentially see what was said in your conversation?

I'm at work and can't access YouTube, though it sounds intriguing. I shall have a look when I get home and comment when I have thoroughly reviewed the material.

(replying now just means I can find it easier in "Recent Posts" Wink)

From this google site...
Google wrote:
Google Wave is a new tool for communication and collaboration on the web, coming later this year. ...

Or from here...
googlesystem.blogspot.com wrote:
Google Wave is a new communication service previewed today at Google I/O. "A wave is equal parts conversation and document, where people can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more."

The service seems to combine Gmail and Google Docs into an interesting free-form workspace that could be used to write documents collaboratively, plan events, play games or discuss a recent news....

"In Google Wave you create a wave and add people to it. Everyone on your wave can use richly formatted text, photos, gadgets, and even feeds from other sources on the web. They can insert a reply or edit the wave directly. It's concurrent rich-text editing, where you see on your screen nearly instantly what your fellow collaborators are typing in your wave. That means Google Wave is just as well suited for quick messages as for persistent content -- it allows for both collaboration and communication. You can also use "playback" to rewind the wave to see how it evolved."

...

Of course, marketing hype may not appear in an actual product Rolling Eyes Wink

sounds like they have just merged forums, mail, IM, Blogs all into one. which is what they set out to do.
personally i think its a good idea. saves you have a hotmail account, and a myspace account and windows messenger

Sat through 45 minutes of the presentation so far and personally I'm not convinced it does anything new enough to merit giving the company the keys to my daily interactions.

The way Google manages to cloak it's data harvesting in a warm and fuzzy veneer of "we're doing it for the users" is actually starting to terrify me. It's like Apple, just a much more subtle price tag.
