Riding with glasses.

Went for a ride the other day with my glasses.

Wow what a pain, actually prevented me enjoying most of it.
I found the glasses bounced up and down slightly on pretty much most of the journey which severley effected riding and was actually quite nausiating after a good stint.

Damn the ZXR and it's rough ride also, probably didn't help.

Any tips? It's going to be a nice weekend.

Never had a problem while wearing glasses, they're normally kept tight by the helmet padding.

What about some nice light flexi framed jobbies? I just got some for bike use and they're really good (can't fit my slightly pretentious 'ooh I'm in media I am' thick framed ones under a lid) - I think being so light they don't really move much and there's plenty of give.

I find at high speeds, the specs wobble and with it so does your vision.

Switch to contacts .
I cant beleive the difference it made to me. Visor doesnt mist up as much and ive also found my vision increased. Didnt realise just how much difference it made until i went for a spin with my glasses on again

im 20, been wearing contacts since i was 13 as i hated glasses.

i cant ever ride in glasses.

Contacts aren't very good in my experience.Can see much better in specs. Plus they tint by themselves as well.

My glasses steam up quite easy, especially in the cold. So night time riding in winter is actually safer for me to not wear them. Truth be told I'm not dangerously short sighted anyways.
Couple the cold winter with bright mid morning winter sun and I'd be riding blind with them on.

However in regards to OP they were held firmly in position even on uneven road surface. Get a better fitting helmet.

Although my glasses are tight and don't bounce I do find doing lifesavers a bit of a pain in the neck as i've got to turn my head further to see through the glasses and not passed the sides... that and taking them off & on & off & on for the helmet.

Still better than messing my eyes up with contacts

I wore my glasses to Nottingham and back from London.

Usually wear lenses but I couldn't risk something getting in them on such a long distance.

Glasses aren't good if you leave the visor open over 40mph tho

im mean to wear glasses all the time, though i only have slight longsight in my left eye and ive never worn them on the road unless i have a headache, too much hassle and i dont like them.

Thanks. Real pain in the ass for me.

I usually wear contacts but haven't had some for over a year since I moved and now since i've changed opticians I have to do another compulsory contact lens fitment thing with them.

It might be the helmet slightly at fault also, it's been with me a while and the cushioning has beded down somewhat so it's not as tight as it once was.

I'll try with an alternate helmet I have and see how that goes.

I wear glasses if I can't be arsed with contacts.

Normally held in place quite nicely by the helmet padding although I do find that it's more comfy if I wear mine with the straight arms instead of the ones that are curved behind the ears.

Cheap, light glasses are fine for me but not the most durable.

GlassesDirect are very cheap, borh in price and quality.

Get yerself to Specsavers...they have 2 for 1 at the moment.

Must be hard if you have to wear glasses for your eye sight.

I have good eye sight, but I really did not like riding with sun glasses on, it was when I was doing rear observations (life savers), the edge of the glasses would get in the way, slightly obscuring vision.

I now ride with a pair of sun glasses, which has no frame, the entire sun glasses are 1 piece.

Glasses are fine, im so used to wearing them i get pissed off when I dont have them (contacts itch too much). Mine dont shake or anything even at over a ton.
