can you hear piston rings go ?

i have a speedfight 2, just giving it a rev in my garage and heard like a "pisssssss" soudn and it cut off !

Last time i heard something like that was on a rs100 years ago while i was ragging it , it was the head gasket, it would still go but without much power, i was screamin along then psssst gone.

mines a 50 hadnt been started for abit so started it up, give it bit of a welly and like a "pisssss" sound, and wont start now!

dunno if i can be bothered checking what it was or just get rid of it, to much hassle 50cc speedfight !
anybody looking for a bike that dosent realli know how to fix them never buy a speedfight..!

I would do a compression test 1st to see, a nice sykes pickavant kit was on ebay for £20 2 days ago. or halfords sell them as do gunsons .

Or see if you can borrow one.
Also check the spark plug and its thread, see if you get a spark.
See how you go from there.
