Yup.

Travelling to work along a dual carriageway at about 75ish, suddenly heard a bang. Rear wheel has locked and the back end fishtailed about like crazy, finally dumping me off at about 35mph I think. Fun sliding down the wet road towards a big busy roundabout Confused

Managed to haul the bike up and push it to work. I'm a bit sore now in my shoulders and my right leg, but I'm not hurt majorly Smile

Any ideas what it could of been?

Glad you're ok at least.

I presume everything was turning ok when you pushed it to work?
Was it in neutral or with the clutch pulled in?
Did the engine turn over after?

sorry to hear that.. good you're ok though and hope it hasn't put you off biking!

My first thought would be that the engine seized, two stroke?.. not enough oil, or oil pump stopped working etc etc..

i'm sure someone will be able to tell you exactly what it is with more info!

Glad you're ok mate. As Kev said, could be an engine seize or a loose chain being sucked.

Yeah - could be dodgy chain but then you wouldn't have been able to push it to work so maybe gears or engine issue?

Nasty!

Well at least you are okay, bike can be repaired.

Why did it happen? Did pulling in the clutch not allow the wheel to turn again?

Unlucky, as everyone else has said, sounds like a possible seizure. Lucky that you were able to keep everything gathered together and in one piece.
Thumbs Up

Ugh.

Today at work, sore as hell. Not fun! Thumbs Up for all the responses Smile

Bike got home last night in the back of a van, we got some very shady looks as 3 of us loaded it into the back of a big white Transit at 8.30pm Razz

Top end will be off tonight some time to inspect the damage, we're pretty sure it is a seizure. Either way I think we'll rebuild it as its way overdue. Also will be something to do as it could help sell it Smile
