That was a main earth wire for all the rear lights. The stupid spot weld has snapped off. I was trying to connect my subwoofer's earth wire to the bolt; but now i've fecked it.

The car starts and cuts out with the battery light flashing on the dash. Ive tested its this that is causing the cutting out.

Any suggestions??

Drill a proper hole, sand or grind the area to bare metal and find an appropriate nut and bolt to go in. then cut the 2 wires off that lump and crimp new eye terminals on and bolt them back.

Or if you aren't fussy you can just do the same as above without the new terminals, strip the insulation back a decent way on both, twist them together and wrap them around the bolt thread a couple of times and trap them in as you do the bolt up, just use a bolt with a large head or a washer so they don't come out.

Thats what I was thinking Wink

Would the metal rust if left as bare? Should I sand a very small amount off? Such as with a small hand drill and the right sanding drill bit?

No its a SEAT Ibiza.

I managed to drill a new hole etc.

But the subwoofer still isn't working. The cars fine now though and thats the main thing.

Its just the sub keeps blowing fuses.

if its blowing fuses its either a fucked sub or you have wired it wrong go over all your wiring and check for any damage.

Try running the sub straight to the battery (have an inline fuse) and see if it works that way.

It blew it's fuse on the amp when I tried to connect it to the battery (lots of sparks).

Then everytime I replace the fuse it sparks and blows it. So I disconnected it from the battery (buy pulling out the fuse in the power cable) and replaced the fuse in the amp. But now it blows on the cable.

I've checked the wiring and it seems fine

Ive checked the remote wire (works when cars ignition is on and stops when its off) can't check the power cable, but it blew the fuse in the amp amp, so that must be working.

I was earth'ing the voltmeter with the amps earth cable and it was working fine so I am clueless :S

The wiring to the subwoofer seems all connected but I don't think that should matter. The amp should still work.

So what do you think? broken amp?
