Could they target a smaller demographic?

What next a crack down on drivers of red cars because we all know they go the fastest?

I would have thought traffic police should be stopping youths (or anybody else) riding mopeds badly as a matter of course, what a waste of time.

They could pick a smaller dermographic... LEGAL Chav moped riders round here!! You are right though, they should be doing this anyway! Next we'll adopt the American system of declaring "war" on everything... Rolling Eyes

Me neither. Personally I can't stand them. I preferred riding a pushbike when I was 16 and then went straight onto a 125 bike at 17.

If the police bust a few chavs, so much the better.

I've rode a 'moped' for a year. Although it was de-restricted I never gave them a chance to pull me over as I stuck to speed limits, wore a jacket and gloves and put actual 'L' plates on. It's a shame the young riders than do stick to the rules are being stereotyped as the twats on the video.

Little scrotes riding scooters illegally will often be up to all sorts of other naughty tricks, so they're well worth stopping - especially as the scooters are often stolen, like mine!

I never attracted much attention on mine, probably due to the fact I looked like a gorilla on a clown's circus bike.

I don't understand why he was charging that boy, he said the car was turning right, then he went up the inside. Surely if the car was going right, going up the inside would mean he would get past easy??

Also I've seen that car before, gonna definitely keep more of an eye out for it now.

agree its a waste of time there's as many people who ride dangerously on high powered bikes as there are mopeds.

I didn't know that revving your engine was a crime?

It seems to me that almost all the ped riders nowadays get put into one group, this group being chavs or loonies. Not all of them are bad.
A few years ago when i had just passed my test i had a honda c90. It was a restoration project that i had finished and i used it for going to the shops and short rides. It was tax, tested and insured at the time. One day i decided to drop my mate off at his house on it instead of taking the sv, we were both wearing helmets, gloves and jackets and i had my boots on.
It was a 25 mile ride to house on the c90 two up and is was around 10pm when we set off and it was dark. Along the way we were stopped 7 times by the police and the sixth time the two coppers ran up to us and dragged us off the bike and into the back of the car. They said that they thought we had nicked it because it was a old bike out late with two young 'uns riding. My mate was proper pissed off and almost got locked up for swearing at the coppers.
They said that most of the scooter and ped riders they see aren't legal so they thought that i wasn't either.

Coppers should be pulling the ped riders for doing something wrong, not just because they ride a ped.
