Hero GoPro 5 test footage - Honda Duel

I convinced my mate to spend £160 on the HeroMotorsports camera and we took it in turns to do chase shots. Other videos were made today but they need "editing" if you know what I mean .

Also took the chance to compare the differences in our riding styles and machines. I firmly maintain that the Blade is a 600cc chassis with a 900cc motor stuck in it.

Suffice to say, it was interesting to see how different our riding styles are based on the engine notes and lean angle.

I'd like to say that the footage was converted to mpeg firstly before edited which can account for the loss of quality - youtube compresses it even further.

The original AVI file is the dog's bollocks and that's all i have to say! Infinitely better than ATC2K.. if you want the setup, I'd definitely suggest getting the WIDE + motorsports mount. The fisheye wide angle lens does give a very good impression of speed.

Guided tour of our campus at speed! Of course it's a private toll road. I had the misfortune of giving 30 of my hard earned quids to it and STILL they try to put me down for breaking the speed limit? What speed limit!? It's a gated, private road and not a public thoroughfare!

What the fuck have you been smoking mate; there's no horse riders at uni! Besides, i slow down for horses on country lanes anyway.

THAT speedhump is what the uni bikers jump. People say that speedhumps are made equally; although some are more equal than the others. The gradient of the road at that point permits good one wheel action at the expense of popped fork seals and wearing of the shock and bearings! Folklore has it that the fastest guy to do that jump was a Club racer called Mark Johnson on his SP1. Yeah, campus security hate bikers because they have their "traditions" - library jump is amongst the most infamous.

At this point the camera was mounted on my mate's 600

Both of us are STILL planning to do the campus TT in our boxers at some point during finallists week.

I can forgive you for making that mistake. The Go-Pro's fish eye panoramic cam has a 170 degree field of view which has that pincushion effect at the edges so the objects appear contored. On most camera setups, including the GoPro 5mp NON-WIDE, you wouldn't have registered that cyclist at that screenshot.

Amazing piece of kit which I can now recommend to all. Shame that the battery is rubbish - you MUST use rechargables since our standard alkalines only lasted 45 mins before the cam was flashing low.

Not much point in looming it mate, it's only a compact sealed camera. Lithium/rechargables will work well. The system is mountable in a multitude of areas wirelessly.
