Hi there all.

Im turning 18 on August 3rd and I have been riding since the age of 16. I started my riding off with a Aprilia SR50 R (kept it legal) and then upgraded to a Runner ST 125 when I turned 17.

Over the two year I haven't had an off or any sort of accident (keeping fingers crossed it wront happen for a long time) and I would like to think I am quiet a mature and sensible rider.

Which brings me to my point.... I want a "proper" bike Twisted Evil

What would be the best option for me (since I've always been on automatic) because my CBT expires at the end of August Shocked

How difficult isit to obtain a real motorbike license?!?!

Pretty easy, judging by some of the twats on here that have passed. Laughing

Best option depends how much money you want to spend. You could buy a cheap 125 and teach yourself, buy a cheap 125 and take a few lessons or you could do some intensive training on a school bike and get your licence that way. After 2 years on scoots there shouldn't be a massive amount you need to learn so if you pulled your finger out you could have a pass before your cbt runs out.

hmmmm lol im sure i will have many since CBT doesnt actually teach much. How does a bike test compare to a car test?!?!

That's such an un-answerable question. I would say the car test was harder cos the car test was the first one I did - therefore there was more to learn. When it came to bike test all I had to do was learn how to pass the bike test, not learn all the roadsense stuff I already knew from driving. Plus I think the car manouvres offer more opportunity to cock up.

I did car test second, it was a million times easier. Laughing You can't drop the car/put your foot down. I passed first time with a few minors.

Can't comment on the new tests but the bike test has a big advantage over the car test - the examinor has to ride behind you. This means he can't keep a note of all the mistakes you've made, and also he may not notice a few. I got away with a few minor mistakes in heavy traffic, where presumably he was concentrating on riding his own bike.

I'm with Bendy, the bike test is a million times easiler, then again I did do that second.
