just bought a digital photo frame as a gift for someone and it's blatant that it's been opened.

When I bought it i saw the box was ripped, but thought thats ok these things happen in shipping.

on opening it, I found a loose cable tie, opened the power supply and low and behold it's all loose, not what i would expect, i would have thought it left the factory with the cable neatly bundled up with said loose cable tie.

got to the stand and found that tape wasn't stuck properly, again obvious it was previously opened, could be a sign it's been used.

further to this the protective cover on the frame wasn't stuck down anymore, had tape on though.

no cover on the screen itself and the screen was marked as if someone has tried to clean it, had what i thought were scratches but they buffer off (had they been it would defo be going back)

tested and it appears to be working fine, no dead pixels.

so should i take it back, i have a no quibble 30day guarantee so it wouldn't be an issue, but i think it was the shops only one.

thoughts and opinions please.

I'd take it back to the shop and at least let them know I wasn't happy.

Take it back if you are unsure, sounds like you have found the downside to their 30 no quibble policy Wink

How about you just put a load of pictures on for the person your buying it for, which will explain why its been opened and it would be a nice surprise to open it up and see a load of photo's they haven't seen for a while?

that's not a problem, i have a compact flash card to give too.

it's point of principle that it's been opened, i presume wheni buy something new it's new.

one way to look at it, is that it's been run in.

Send it back, and explain why...they need to know what's going on at their end, so they can make enquiries.

The trouble with people these days, quick to moan, but don't go down the official channels of complaint!!! If everyone said their piece to the right people I do believe a lot of crap like this wouldn't happen. Thumbs Up

Send it back. You're paying new prices for soiled goods. It may have been returned for a reason.
