Hey,
Don't know if its because i just got my zx6r and hadn't ridden for around 3 months but i never used to get this problem.

Basically after last weekend my left arm has been destroyed, waking up in the morning it feels like i've pulled it and really ache's/stings, i havn't done anything else to cause this, and my shoulders hugely ache as well.

I'm not sure if its my position on the bike i'm a bit confused! Anyone else get this problem?

Thanks

When you buy a new bike (from my experience) you ache getting used to the new bike, if it one shoulder then i'll look at forks and handle bars as to why it only aches one arm?
When i first bought my FZR400 coming from a CG125 my legs used to lock up under strain from the new posistion.

Just look an see, done pre-judge. When you change a bike your changing alot more than you relize, posistion, forces etc.
If its acheing one arm how ever (if the shoulder affected hasnt been damaged from a crash etc) then i'd suggest that one fork leg might be lower/higher or a bar is different from the other or you riding posistion is stressing one arm.
Hope its nothing. And enjoy your new bike. stay safe.

I think it can be caused by being a bit tense - try to relax the arms and shoulders. This is going to be worse on a new to you bike.

Having said that we're all getting older and long stretches to bars on sportsbikes is a strange position to be in for a long time.

Could possibly be a previous injury coming back.

I get aches from my previous crashes in both shoulders, more so the right and also pain in my elbows from time to time but it tends to be when im standing or walking for a long time not on the bike. Must get some physio sorted for it, just keep thinking its not worth the hassle.

the left arm is from using the clutch, as its muscles in your arm that pull the tendons in your fingers

As above, the clutch may be an issue.
Have you checked the position of your levers? This can cause some serious discomfort if set wrong.
Are you riding 'loosely', not tense? While riding, at any point, including knee-down mid-corner, you should be able to flap your elbows chicken-style and it not affect the steering of the bike. If it does, then your arms are too tense... loosen up!

I now have the most wonderful mental image of you riding around Cadwell with elbows frantically flapping and squawking repeatedly.

Funnily enough I got this when I first got my ZX6R as well Shocked

Pain down shoulder, down left side of neck etc etc.

For me it was because I was trying to ride it the same as a 400, ie pinning the throttle to pull out for an overtake, bike was shaking its head at me everytime it got near a catseye Laughing Cue tensing up and "pulled muscle"

Soon learnrd to be a bit easier on the throttle before crossing the line Wink
