Depends on the likelyhood of repeat business. If he can open doors to other customers, then give him a fair price. If it's a one-off, charge whatever you can get away with. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

Thing is usually people wait 2-3 weeks for my products and it will cost £200-£300 so doing it in 2 days £500 may seem reasonable. I may have to charge more
Im skint at the moment, I owe money so its not good. |

I would sell the item for approx. normal price to the customer because the danger is if you go to high with the price you will get £0. So its better to get £300 than ask for £400 and get nothing.
But if you are reasonable they are more likely to give you more business in the long term. ____________________ Piaggo liberty 125 SOLD - CBR 125 - SOLD Aprilia RS 125 - SOLD CBR 400 NC29 - SOLD ZX6R currently own https://bikepics.com/members/Graprilia/ |

Back on to answer the OP, if you want to succeed longterm in business then your ethics are paramount. Don't ever look at a potential customer as "how much can I fleece this guy" but more as "how can I ensure repeat business". ____________________ Fallen Angel "Nae sniffing my seat now!!!!! "

Surely if you're put at the front of the queue (in terms of order picking from the warehouse, and delivery to your door), then that is quicker shopping??
But the point is a very valid one - supply vs demand.
Allymoss, I too run a small business, technically a couple, but it's all under the same umberella. In my case, it's usually computer software/services I'm selling.
As someone posted above, I never publish prices, but instead, I'll attend a site/meeting to evaluate the client/job on it's own merits. Then a negotiation ensues.
There's been cases in the past where I thought the job would be a ballache, so I deliberately quoted far higher than I thought the client would of paid - a couple of times I've been shocked by them still taking it up!!
Knowing how much money the client has, doesn't have a lot to do with prices IMO. Although I'm not afraid to say that price can be varied depending on how much I like the client, or how stressed I was that morning with the kids etc (afterall, I'm human, and if I'm in a bad mood, someone will pay me more for doing a job than if I'm in a good mood).
TBH, in your situation, as you seem to be purely basing invoices on the income of the prospective client, I'd stick to what you normally charge... but that's just me. ____________________ Riding isn't dangerous, crashing is.
