So...the XBOX 360, any good?

Just been having a browse on play.com and the 360 has an impressive games catalogue, especially the RPG genre. And having a look at pre-orders for the PS3 there's nothing decent coming out until Fall.

So what's the best XBOX to get and can anyone recommend some good exclusives?

Now I'm a PS boy, but from playing around with the 360 I'd say that dead rising is one of the best. The game I'd like to try is Fable 2. Loved the first one, really want to see how the second is.

As a driving game, Test Drive is one of the best I've played.

Fallout 3 is a stunning game, though not an exclusive. I can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on the DLC for the PS3.

I hope you wont be sending it back to Germany to be fixed, although its fast and easy to sort out with the 3 year warranty now.

I dont personally like it as I have no interest in the games. There is nothing for me. I enjoyed the ps2 better. But My other half is glued to it Rolling Eyes

The PS3 has dried up for me, nothing new out for ages that I'm remotely interest in just shitty third party, mediocre, multi platform bollocks.

The 360 just recieved Star Ocean which I really like the look of and theyre also getting the new Tales of Vesperia game months before the PS3. Those two titles are gonna be awesome, the first proper JRPG'S released in years IMO.

Surely by now they've sorted the hardware issues out?

Is the top of a 360 flat? as I'd need to sit my PS3 on it.

I've played Fallout 3 to death, I reckon it was one of the best games ever made Thumbs Up

It is flat but I wouldn't suggest putting a PS3 on top of it. It'll probably overheat and crumble underneath it. Laughing

It's a fair bit smaller than a PS3 but has a huge power supply.

360 on its own is OK to make it good you need to have xbox live which has a recurring annual charge. Sony provide this free with the PS3 Confused

sooner or later M$ have to come to their senses and realise that online communities are not something that should carry a premium, especially when you have paid for the development of the online content when buying the game.

We have both consoles in the house, my preference is the PS3, it just does more....but the 360 is £100ish cheaper....but the PS3 plays Blue Ray.....ooooo the choices Laughing

Ive had 360's for years, almost since the release. True Ive had 4 or 5 replacements in that time because of breakdowns but thats life.

The thing was just sat for ages doing nothing for me until someone at work told me about Live and then I was hooked. Its a good laugh sitting down with your mates and taking the piss.

After just watching the E3 videos on XBLive I can only say the future is very bright. Check out 'Project Natal', a way of controlling games, media and communicating without the need for a controller - just your body and your voice. Not in a gimmicky way like Wii either - theres a video showing the media being manipulated like the bloke does in Minority Report and games actually following your whole body movements.

On top of that theres the new Forza, new Halo games (although 3 was shit), new Splinter Cell, COD6 etc etc.

I'd say go for it Thumbs Up

quick question, say I buy a 360 elite, can i hook it up 2 my network straight out the box or do I have to buy a wireless network adapter?

edit - looked into it a bit more and the 360 doesn't even have built in wireless? anyone correct me? no way can these machines even be compared to the PS3 IMO, Microsoft seem to have gone out of their way to make everything awkward and costly for the consumer. The PS3 is just wham bam straight out the box.

I really like the look of Left 4 Dead / Dead Rising / Star Ocean / Tales of Vesperia etc

I would have thought the 'Elite' model would have come with all the stuff like chargers and network adptors though and paying for Live on top of that, gonna give it some thought Thumbs Up

just a quickie for xbox owners.

If you don't want to pay the extortionate amount of £50 for a M$ wireless bridge, you can just buy a cheap wireless router (£20 - 25), as long as it has the facility to be configured as a wireless bridge you're ok. (As long as you have a wireless access point to start with of course)

I did, not at the same time but your get resistance and infamous on the Ps3 Halo etc on the xbox mario kart and galaxy on the wii etc etc.

I have my gaming pc, Xbox360 and PS3 plugged into the same monitor, then I have my wii plugged into my main TV.

It really bugs me this hole 360 vs Ps3, the competition is good for gamers, so the better each one does the better it will be for gamers. Look at Forza vs GT. Forza 3 has really upped the game to get ahead of GT, if the PS3 had gone under a few years ago, they wouldn't half as bothered.

The you have price wars, dedicated releases. It all benefits the consumer.

on a side note the my most used platform is the PC, if a new game comes out on a 360, PS3 I'll play it top death, get bored and return to the PC. I'll make a graph Very Happy

. Oh but I do play the xbox more than PS3 because live is 10x better than PS3 network

Yeah I use the pc more myself and once a console game comes out I nail it and go back to the pc.

I have been playing the ps3 mostly as I am loathed to fork out for live yet and I need to get a wifi adaptor or some home network plugs.

But the trophys on the Ps3 dont do anyhting for me really.
