I used to use face book to keep in contact with people who I might not get the chance to bump into so often, until it occurred to me that half these people I don't care about and most of the chumps on there just boil my piss.
Therefor for the second and now final time I have left, this time letting the guys at FB know what I thought.

Quote:
After deactivating my account and returning once before I've decided it really is a waste of my time and don't want it to be a waste of my life, add to that I don't want to associate with half the morons on my "friends" list... Fuck knows what came over me.
I've got a life to live and I don't need to tell EVERYONE about it, not least you lot, have fun with whatever personal information you have on me... I'm sure it's irrelevant.
Goodbye.

P.S Piss off with all these groups and fan clubs, app's, boxes, likes and shit... A world full of distractions for dulled minds.

I was going to post up a link on my profile to that article "face book will ruin your life" but then I figured the general FB population wouldn't take heed nor recognise any of the truth in it so fuck them, sheepish brain dead mongs.

So if you hate face book then I suppose you're not even on it, you don't have to worry, If you barely use it then what is the point? Get out of it!
If anything here causes even the slightest offense then you are now feeling the effects of the truth and you would also benefit from leaving it, if you don't really care then fair enough and if you genuinely get allot of it then I'm happy for you... Just don't let it consume your life. Thumbs Up

Can you let me be your last ever FB friend and I will send you some Teddy-Bears a virtual hug and an invitation to join a group that you have absolutly no interest in?

I do have an account. Rarely use it. Got very few contacts after deleted loads. I only kept it to share pics etc with people I know pretty well and I don't use the applications. I can take it or leave it tbh. I know people that spend their lives on it but I don't see why they think it's so good tbh.

Whats the big deal?

The "guys" at facebook will not give a shit what you say, millions of people have it so I doubt you will have any effect.

Just add a few people that you actually speak to then. I have about 200 "friends" most of which aren't near me, or I don't talk to but if I need to I can. About 20-30 I will speak to on a semi regular basis so it's useful.

Anyone that lets facebook consume their lives is a dick

Give it a while and everybody will flounce from facebook for the new latest trend, just like myspace before it, and piczo before that.

Facebook is a waste of valuable lifetime that could have been more profitably spent picking my nose.

At least if I pick my nose, I am rewarded by a tasty bogie and a reduction in breathing effort.

Stop caring, as evidently after the BCF post and "complaint" letter you still do.

I use facebook for keeping in contact with friends. That may be why you dislike it.

Hey im not insulting you, im just suprised you're insulting me for using it.

I've never had a facebook account. Infact I've never even visited a page. This makes me undoubtedly cool and edgy. Cool No arguments.

You might as well have sent them a 'It's not you, it's me' email, ya big ponce Laughing

You add people. You laugh at their shit lives. You ignore the stupidity.

It takes 5 minutes a day if that and from that I get to keep in contact with people I otherwise wouldn't. You'd be suprised how often it comes in handy.

Think about how much time you waste on here, I've got my addiction down massively, but during uni it was at least an hour a day usually Neutral Even more when I had work due in.

But out of that I've met some very cool people and had some fantastic nights. Not to mention all the advice and help I've had when spannering the bike, and offers of parts/physical help with jobs.

An hour a day!?!?!

Fucking lightweight, call that an addiction? Fook me I get in from work at 10:30pm and am normaly on here untill 2 or 3 am, that is what i call addicted! Actualy, today i had a day off work, and instead of doing anything constructive i spend 90% of my time on here, only having a break to watch V for Vendetta

And the worst thing is that i know it and yet i still spend far far far to much time on here.

It is a sad fact that i spend more time on the internet talking about bikes than i do actualy riding them.

Somebody ban my ip adress before i become a permenant part of BCF, i fear my DNA will merge with the programming or something!

Anyway, off to bed i go!

I'm sure they really care about your mail, Facebook has been valued between 5 and 15 billion dollars.

Funnily enough i just found out one of my friends has had a baby via facebook, however due to the pixelated blob of a picture he put on his profile i can only assume his girlfriend gave birth to a little baby pac-man, i think he may need to consider why she has been spending so much time in the local arcades recently!

My thoughts . . . .

I've always claimed to use FB to keep in touch with friends (its great to see what people are up too). In fact, upon thinking about it, half of the people on there are just people I used to know and am highly unlikely to meet. Or people I work/worked with - Ya Boo Sux!

Recently my boss added me as a friend, which is fine, but made it much harder to use a a bordum tool at work Sad. Which in a nutshell, is all it is.

Anyway, long and short . . I have a busy life, with lots to do and was finding FB a distraction and have un-doubatably burnt the sausages, flooded the bathroom, stayed up later than I should and not given my boy enough cuddles on the sofa!!! Just for browsing other peoples pics - yawn.

SO, I deleted my account last night.

I like the old fashioned life. . . . ya know, grow ya own veg type, cycle rides in the woods, stopping off at the local for a pint on a sunday afternoon, this moderd way is just naff.

I've got a few close friends who I treasure and will always be in touch with. Like my belongings I don't have much, but what I have I look after.

So, tomatoes it is . . . . that or I'll be more of a pest on here!

You know it is possible to have a Facebook account without selling your soul to them, spending your life on there or otherwise obsessing over it.

- Take the time to set up your privacy options properly and don't post anything on there that you wouldn't be happy with employers / parents / the world seeing. Don't make your profile searchable by google.

- Don't post pictures of every fucking night out you ever have. People don't want to see them anymore than you want to see theirs.

- Don't waste your time accepting teddies, joining groups or responding to emails from people that you don't even like. The 'ignore all requests' button is your friend.

- Use it as a useful way to keep in touch with people from school etc. that would otherwise be very difficult to get hold of. Use it to communicate with multiple friends at one (you know 'friends' as in the ones you actually still hang out with). Everyone can see what everyone else is saying. It's like your own personal forum.

It is what you make of it. That you don't feel you can use it productively or without wasting your time on it says more about you than the application itself.

Well I was a facebook/myspace hater but to weeks ago decided to give it a go.

So far so good, it's very customisable so you can set levels of privacy and pick and choose your friends and who you share your info with. I have got in touch with loads of old friends, and found it interesting to see what they are up to now. Sure there are loads of numptys on it who post their current state of emotions every 5 minutes, but you have the option of hiding their status so you are not continually bombarded with their info! It’s also good for keeping in touch with your close friends, and cheaper then a phone call or text.

It’s free and optional at the end of the day, so if you don’t like it don’t join... Simples!

What a waste of space this original post is. If you dont like it then leave it its not for you and stop winging because there are other people that like it and you dont. And calling people names that use facebook? how bloody immature are you! Lots of people use it here and like it, the ones that dont, dont. Simple as that. Thats like buying something you hate and moaning that you dont like it and complaining because your taste is different to someone else's. And then writting a complaint letter to the company because it didnt meet your taste bud requirements.

Why the bitterness towards people that do like it? wtf is that about? have you no real friends or even just friends you added there that you are interested in or are you just interested in yourself? its a social network if you are unsocial then dont go to it.

Don't get so touchy, It was a very half arsed post and completely out of boredom, of course not EVERYONE on face book are like I have described, just allot of them, as general society really.

Skluff, I was happy with how I had my account set up and to be honest It wasn't a very happening place,
I have real friends, people who I now value more than ever, I've learnt that good friends can be hard to come by and in my opinion I'm not going to start building up worthwhile relationships based on meeting through teh internets.
I don't have the time to waste and to be honest I'd rather be lonesome any day than be a part of that.

I know my flounce speech upon leaving won't do anything, with any luck some poor sod might get a good chuckle in at my expense but hey ho I was bored.
face book has never been a problem for me but it concerns me the way in which people treat it, though ultimately as I've said there a numerous mugs that are better off left to it. Thumbs Up

I am glad however that one of my threads has actually turned into a valid round of debate rather than just flaming or dying they usually do. Thumbs Up
