Thought the Police claimed these cameras were there to slow people down? That's what he was doing!

Poor bugger, i hope that wont stop people flashing etc when coming from speed traps. Altho more eloquent proof of revenue raising you couldnt really ask for could you.

NB: stick sign in ground and run away Laughing

Interesting how they banned him for doing something not related to him driving his vehicle. Especially if he was simply stood at the side of the road not in his car etc.

Its all wrong though. Evil or Very Mad

Exactly, I find it difficulty to see how they could justify banning him from driving.

proves the point that their motives for the speed trap aren't based on safety at all!

That's shocking.

If you stopped someone getting away from the police after a bank robbery you wouldn't get charged with 'wilfully obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty'.

I'm confused. How can they get away with such a stupid made up law?

Sounds a bit stupid, he was only warning of an "accident black spot".

However, I don't think that article tells the entire story, there must be more to it, I'd like to hear the Police side of the story.

That kind of thing is very commonplace in holland. when the police set up a speed trap people put up signs warning people.

speed traps are to slow people down at accident blackspots. I'm sure that old duffer slowed down more people than that speed trap ever would have.

I live in Aldershot and travel to Farnborough daily along that dreaded 325.

Police once placed an unmarked camera van there claiming it was for the DVLA tax inspections. They also have motorcycle riders who pull people further up the road if they we're speeding. You don't even know it's the police just plain white transit van.

Local papers say the police and increasing the amount of claimed fatal accidents along that stretch of road to allow them to police it in this manner further. It's strange that they do it on a busy Saturday morning mostly catching shoppers doing 32 mph in a 30.

Regards,
Kevo.
