Tyres wore out monday and want to get some new rubber front and rear. Got about £130-£140 to spend on 120/70s &160/60s but not sure what to get? Any recommendations?

I would recommend looking at roundandblack on ebay and then adding £20 for fitting locally. As far as makes go, you won't go far wrong with Michelin Pilot Road 2CTs, I use them and they last forever (on a Fazer 1000) and let me stick a knee down whenever I like without drama.

If you can find them for that price then go for it, don't get the Pilot Powers though, they are far softer and, unless you are a nutter, you won't need the extra grip.

Cheers

Meh, I'd probably stick BT45's on, save some cash, have plenty of grip and will last ages.

But that's just me, and everyone will come along and disagree....

Ive been looking a Continental Conti-Motions, they are £129.99 on Busters but the front is 120/60 rather than 120/70, is that a big issue?

The side walls will be shorter so the tyre will curve more.

Boobs, how do you use your bike? Commutes, Dry riding only etc That has a bearing on your tyre choices IMO

Pat
BT45s offer the best for my all weather everyday riding.

Dunlop roadsmarts, Avon storms, or bridgestone BT021's.

Very little in it for most riders. My personal preference is Avon Storms, purely for their wet performance - found them all very similar in the dry

Maxxis are good tyres, either the sports or the sports/touring. I could do you a pair delivered for about £140.
BT021's and Storms are also very good, but they come out at a fair bit more Thumbs Up

You'll get a set of Pilot Sports for £130 - £145 .. if you can fit them yourself you'll save money even after buying tyre levers etc. (wonder why I never done it myself years ago).

Don't know about the others mentioned but BT45s are duel compound which makes them ideal for what you want them for Thumbs Up

Damn straight, I'd be going for the '45s. They are plenty 'sticky' enough for what you need, good wet weather performance too, and will last a long time.

They might not be billed as 'sporty', but they are what you need.

Download Roadsmarts work well! Well on any bike and it will last for ages. Do a google search and find it on this forum; you'll only ever get good reviews from other users. Perfect for commuting and sunday rides. Probably the most versatile tyre out there; nothing is compromised.
