I find it incredible that you kids get through the day without topping yourself especially when hurdles of this magnitude are thrust into your adolescent path. I mean, it's not like this particular crisis is something that could be avoided is it?

I can afford them, if they billed me when i got payed it would be no problem... i just tend to want to spend everything in my account so i have nout left the last few days before i get payed.

contract finishes in january.... don't think i should get another Laughing

I only work 12 hours a week and get a decent pay i suppose... will be different when i get a better job and my own place.

More sarcasm... i was just kidding in the OP... i know i should've payed when i got the bill Laughing

But ahwell. suppose i should pay as soon as i get payed... maybe stop me from getting cut off again.

The thing is, i broke my phone in the off i had last week...

Ahwell.

have learned my lesson.

Note to self: start paying bills on time or else the big bad debt men will come to take away my anal virginity.

It's one of life's learning curves.

Every payday I work out how much all my direct debits come to and how much I can take out. I usually tend to take out 2/3 of that amount and leave the rest in.

Im really having to, from now on, pay bills first, pay back money i borrowed for gear/bike, then see how much i have to live/for petrol etc.

don't pay any insurance, payed the lot when i did my CBT.

Start an ISA soon. I started one when I hit uni. It's handy over summer now that I live with my girlfriend as my income is halved between June-September. I had £4800 in it last week, just took out 800 as my current account down to £16 and I'm going to dublin with friends. Otherwise I'd have to stay at home and miss out on all the fun. Savings accounts aren't just sensible, they rock when you need to waste some stupid money.

I think the main question is...Why have you got a pay monthly phone, with the direct debit coming from your account when you are only 17?

Anyway, cancel the direct debit. When they send you your paper bill it will have a bank giro thingy me bob attatched to it so you can go to the bank to pay it (maybe even post office etc).

I have a problem with my pay one week and my phone oney was due to go out about 3 days later, i rung them up to explain the situation and the only thing they could do was tell me to cancel teh direct debit and pay via the giro, if i wish to i could setup another direct debit afterwards but i left it as is. I get my bill on the 14th of every month and i have until the 28th of that month to pay it.

Yea, unfortunately they don't send out paper bills anymore, it's all online now.

So that idea is out the window. Suppose i should set up an ISA... would be a good idea if i need some extra cash to spend on the bike Thumbs Up

I'd say get off your lazy and and make the effort to get it yourself.
With 12 hours out of the week working you should clearly have the time to make the trip.

Don't get me wrong not everyone is great with money but don't go pissing and moaning about spending your money and suggesting it's all because of the billing date.

The amount of people I deal with at work (in a bank) who come to me and either blame the bank or the people who are attempting to take money for services rendered is simply beyond belief.

They're right up there with those collecting government benefits when not working. Yet they can crawl their ass out of bed at the crack of dawn to whinge about their 'pay' not being in.
When they're told it's not they have no issues launching at you with abuse because of it.

It's not like I'm working full time and pay taxes which supports their bludging ass but I need to take their shit because they have to wait 15 minutes for pays to run so they can go buy their weekly pot allowance to go home have a cone and most likely crawl back into bed.....lazy cunts.

Sorry for the rant but I'm yet another person who is tired of those who can't or won't accept responsibility for their own situation and think the world owes them something.

Oh my only piece of advice here would be try paying on time for a few months and then chat about the billing date again.
You may find them a little more willing if you're real about trying to get it paid.
If they can't see you making little effort at your end then they are unlikely to put any effort in at theirs.

But yea, i'm trying to find a higher paying job with more hours as I only got the part time job to pay for stuff while i was at school.

And now i'm just finished exams etc so getting into the big bad world Shocked
