You have loads of options.
Find a proper fitting screw driver.
Use a punch to try and knock the screws around.
Dremel a slot into the screws and use a flat head screw driver to remove them.
Drill the head off the screws, remove the lid and then unscrew the stub with some pliers. |

first off dont use screwdrivers... waste of time.. get one of those little screwdriver bits you get for drills. find one that fits in perfect and give it a tap with a hammer into the bolt head.. it should fit in nice and snug. .. Then use a 6.5mm socket and a ratchet to turn the screwdriver bit while putting pressure down on the head.. You prob wont even need penetrating oil.. Ive done this loads and works every time.. ____________________ 04' DT125RE (run-a-bout) // 89' DT125R (rebuilt + supermoto conversion)

The trouble with those screws is that they are a water trap.
Rain water pools in the head of the screw and rots it. The ideal solution would be to fit socket head screws with those little domed plastic cover caps pressed into the heads.
I usually fill the head of the screw with a dab of grease after fitting them. A blob of silicone would achieve the same thing. Just pick it out before you want to remove it next time. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. get the screwdriver and a hammer and hit the screwdriver with the hammer and try to turn the screw and also use a lot of WD40 or any other oil ____________________ SEAN TOBIN |

I bought some cheapo (like 2 quid for a set) torx head bits for a screwdriver (like an allen key, but star shaped rather than hex) and hammered one in snugly. It 'bites' into the mashed up mess and comes out a treat.
Whatever you do, please make sure you replace the bolts with copperslipped new ones once you get them out! ____________________ CBR125|||GSXR400|||CBR400|||CBR400|||CB250RS|||GSXR750|||CB250RS

WD40 may help, but you could try boiling a kettle and pour the boiling water over the resovoir, then get an impact driver (with the right sized bit and give it some short sharp digs with a peace maker (hammer), this should start to loosen them up a bit. If that doesn't work last resort buzz the heads off with a dremmel tool or something, lift your lid off to let you grip the remainder with a pair of vice grips or mole grips. But keep plying with WD40 from time to time.
