Does anyone have their ear to the ground on this subject?

Are there any developments?

Blank BR media needs to come down in price really to make it worth while (unless you have loads and loads of storage space or money) You can only justify owning so many £4 tea coasters that look just like the ones you can make with a CD for 5p Laughing

Anydvd is deffinately the tool for it (they had breeched the copy protection before BR was even mainstream, and they stay bang up to date with new copy protection methods. It is one product that really is worth the money)

That is of course if you want to ensure your DVD and BR collection are safe Cool

Ok, I will rephrase, I was meaning developments as in being able to get the issue with needing new keys to decrypt every new wave of releases.

And the biggie is, can you get a ps3 to run a copy, there doesn't seem a way.

Thanks for the input Thumbs Up

You can download movies in the quality of Blu Ray and watch them on your PC now. About 8GB though.

Thumbs Up

This really should not dictate what software you are going to use when you are already writing/copying BR movies anyway Laughing Laughing Laughing

Unless they are copy protection free...... You are stuffed....

Its the act of breaking the protection, that will land you in hot water..

So if I sat here and wrote a program that hacked the protection on one of my own disks, I'd get done for it? What would they charge me with, being a geek?

That's all i could find on short notice while at work.

I'm sure there's something in uk law to support it too otherwise this wouldnt of happened.

the copyright law is pretty crappy tbh.
by ripping a blu-ray or DVD it implies that you own a copy of the disk in the first place (obviously not always the case.) If a buy a copy of a film or CD or whatever, i want to be able to listen to it/watch it wherever i want, not just at home on my DVD player/CD player. i want it on my mp4 player/PC/laptop etc aswell.
