Passed my Mod 2 yesterday, so have got my A2 licence Very Happy

3 minors, not bad - one for road positioning (I was always slightly to the right on the roads) one for doing 27 in a 20 and one because I tried to pull off in neutral once Embarassed Not bad though Smile

I did my test on a 125, so being the complete nutter Rolling Eyes that I am, bought a GS 500 today, 1997 for £750 quid! Was this a good deal? My Dad thought it was brilliant as the bike has only done 19'000 miles, just had new tyres and a service, and is spotless. Also, where can I get the restrictors from? Cheers.

Willy wave Thumbs Up

Anyone know any decent 'sites to buy accessories from for the GS? I want to buy an aftermarket can, maybe crash bungs and if possible, a single seat?

Thanks a lot you BCF peoples Smile

Suzuki sell restrictors for the GS500. Give Robinsons Foundry a ring on 01227 454366. Thumbs Up

Well done for passing your test. Thumbs Up

Don't forget, he's restricted to 33bhp for 2 years now. Nowt wrong with a GS500 as a first bike. Nowt amazing about it either but it's a good place to start. Smile

Nice one.

In terms of mods, people are right in saying don;t spend too much unless you are confident you are keeping it for a while. I said the same about my CB500, had it 5 months lol.

Bungs, hugger, fly screen etc are useful mods as they serve a practical purpose, but I wouldn't go much more than that.

Congratulations Thumbs Up

Mod wise i would say sod it, do anything and everything that you can/want to the bike. It is after all your first big bike and as such should be special so go to town and make it the bike you want it to be. Karma

As uber ghey as it sounds, I really want to get a blue neon light strip for under the bike, they look teh tits. Obviously with an on/off switch, so the 5-0 dont get lairy. They're only 15 quid on eBay too, so even if I get bored of it within 2 miles its okay.

Ha, I've learned my lessons after breaking my arm in three places completing an ultimate fail on a moped wheelie Embarassed

Blue neons are fail. Just thrash the tits off the bike, keep it maintained and have fun. Thumbs Up

Thats right buddy, so instead of complaining I sold the 'ped for 300, worked 30 hours a week aswell as going to college every day, sold both my drum kits that I had had for christmas presents to pay for my A2, lent £100 off my Dad and am quite proud of what I have acheived in the past couple of weeks. I'm completely Fucked though in terms of tiredness, so will be laying off the overtime a little now that I have my bike. And I know it isn't the best bike in the world, but it's what I can afford & I am proud Smile Karma
