Went for a ride out with Fahd earlier from on here. Personally I think his K-Conversions CBR 400 looks amazing. Paint is spot on. Few images of my bike in there too.

I like everything about his bike other than 2 things.

the word repsol, because its clearly birght red rather than orange.

And the mirrors dont flow with the bikes lines at all.

Other than that its surprisingly nice!

The mirrors could look better with modern ones. Also the number plate is slightly off centre.

Cheers for the photos mate. Thumbs Up They look brilliant. Clearly you're a much better photographer (with a much better camera) than I am.

Because this isn't a Tyga Kit and I'm not sure it'd fit. Plus the person who made it is a friend on the family and offered to make it within about 2 hours of me needing one to finish the bike. I intend to have the screen brace painted black soon which should set it off nicely I think.

I'll also adjust the bolts on the undertray and straighten the number plate when I get some time (I'm too busy having fun riding it at the moment). Very Happy

What do you recommend I fit mate? the ones I have at the moment are useful as they stick out quite a lot meaning I can see more than just my shoulders and I'm actually able to see behind me which is useful.

I assume you're referring to the paint? as the 'word' Repsol is black. I know in the photos the paint does look red but it isn't in real life. It might have been because it was so sunny today that the brightness the camera picked up makes it look red.

Great ride today Fnatic, let's do it again once you've re-jetted the Aprilia and we can see how much difference it makes. Thanks again for the photos. Thumbs Up

Laughing Jets are coming next week so should get them fitted then. I still won't be able to keep up mate. I was really pushing it and not even getting close to you.

I love the sound your bike makes when it bounces of the limiter. Thumbs Up

Really good day. Near the end was the best on the twisties. Bit borin trying to catch up with you at the start on the straights and not having enough power to overtake cars. Very Happy

Really suprised how nice it looks mate. I'll upload all the images in highest quality if you want them?

Fahd said to me he doesn't need more than a 400 for now. Guess he just wanted it looking a bit more modern.

I will have them painted black soon. I just had the pillion pegs on as I had to carry a pillion later in the day.

I know what you mean it doesn't look great in one of the photos (although you can't tell in photo 15) but it really isn't noticable in real life.

.

here are my comments / suggestions...

- the detailing seems to be unfinished and rushed. the "repsol" in the side fairings are too low and not is not parallel to the seat cowls "repsol" and line colors.

-the honda wing on the tank is big.

-where are the other sponsor stickers? the "snap-on" and "blue jeans gas" are there, where are the others? or why not putting them all?

-the side mirrors can be replaced with OEM CBR600RR side mirrors which will look better. the way it was placed right now doesnt look good.

-the passenger pegs has to be replaced

I'm glad you like it. We're thinking of doing another one within the next week, hopefully once Fnatics re-jetted his bike. So will text/ring you at some point this week and let you know. Mr. Green

Hi Gary mate, wow dude you are seriously 'picky' lol. I'll try and answer you points...

The guy who painted it was having a few problems lining up the repsol on the fairing and the back so I told him to do the best he could and I really don't mind how it came out.

garyboy-palaboy wrote:

The decal kit is off of a Honda CBR 600/1000RR. That might explain why you think the wings are too big. I don't know if you've noticed but they don't make decal kits like this for a Honda CBR 400RR (unless you go to the lengths of having it custom made, and again it really doesn't bother me enough to do so). Razz

garyboy-palaboy wrote:

I have them all but I think it would look really tacky to have them plastered all along the bottom. They are only there on the race bikes because the companies are paying money for there name to be somewhere on the bike, not because it looks good.

garyboy-palaboy wrote:

I may buy CBR 600 mirrors but I'd need to check they are actually useful. It's not great if they look good better but don't work. I find on some mirrors all I can see is my shoulders whereas because the ones above stick out quite a lot I get a lot of rear visibility which is great. Thumbs Up

-the passenger pegs has to be replaced[/quote]

I'll probably just have them painted; unless you have some other pillion pegs you know that fit that you think would look better?

https://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd304/garyboy_palaboy/ulo/stupid.jpg

As to the above image. This is the 'K-Conversions' kit, not the 'Tyga Kit'. The fairings aren't supposed to touch the tank, if you make it touch the tank it would mean you'd have to point the front end upwards, this would not only fail the MOT as the beam from the headlights would be too high and dazzle other drivers but it would also look really crap.

Also, I've been looking everywhere for that Yoshi Exhaust system you have on your bike but cannot find it. Was it supposed to fit your bike or did you cut of and change the headers so it would fit yours? thanks and hope the above reply helps.

Failing that TYGA do a set of pegs.

For what its worth mate I think your bike looks cool. From past experience people who sit and scrutinise and pick flaws with such an example generally are jealous or aren't happy with there own so pick faults with others. Looks nice, and im sure you don't need me to reassure you of it.

Surprised

Cheers Swift mate. That's exactly why I don't bother replying to most of the losers who post up their 'negative' comments. Especially when you look at the crap they ride. Mr. Green

We went through Woodford, Enfield, Chingford, Waltham Cross, Waltham Abbey and up to the Epping New Road bike meet. Thumbs Up You have family in Leyton so you're local right? when you've got yourself a bigger bike you're welcome to come along too. I would invite you with your current bike but I think you'd really struggle to keep up on the 125. Just give me a PM when you've bought yourself a bigger machine. Thumbs Up

Definitely intend to do that soon mate.

Thanks but the eBay link is for a Honda CRF 70? and I can't see it specify anywhere on the second link that it'd fit a CBR 400RR.

Not wanting to piss on your bonfire (and sure it's been said before), but why'd you spend so much on making a CBR look melted when you could've spent it on suspension, braided lines, a decent service and some track time? Confused

The bodywork was the first thing I wanted done. Thinking of doing the suspension next (I've been told a CBR 600 suspension won't be much hassle to fit). I'm taking it for a full service at my dads garage soon too. May go for braided lines eventually but I'm pretty happy with how they are now (unlike the original fairings which I thought looked hideous) and will do some track days at some point but am still building my confidence on my local twisties.
